Historical Science Writing Challenge!

Hi!

So I thought up this challenge/writing prompt that I thought some of you that are interested in science/history/trying out for JMSS might enjoy. The reason I think this prompt is interesting is because people at all levels, from primary school to PHD, will find it a challenge. So here it is:

Quote
You are writing to a civilisation set roughly 250 years ago (c. 1765) who, for the sake of this piece, shall speak the same language and be totally believing of you. You challenge is to write, in a MAXIMUM of 500 words, whatever you want to tell them to help civilisation thrive and develop.

This involves ethics (i.e. should you tell them to avert wars/kill Hitler etc. or should you keep things like overpopulation in mind), science and communication skills (remember, just saying something like "dialysis" will mean nothing to them - you need to explain it to them), a good selection of topics to tell them about, and possibly most importantly, the ability to write concisely.

Please contribute :)
Happy writing!!
