Thank you very much for this info.
It is great advice and I feel it's really helpful to a lot of people : )

I was just wondering with the essay plans, what would you recommend for discovery (with there only being one previous paper on this AOS)? I saw the 2014 question was about identity so would it be a good idea to plan responses for random topics like conflict, relationships, consequences etc.?

Thanks

Hey GCruise!! Welcome to the forums! ;D

I think that's a great idea, you could also get ideas of potential questions from these Trial Papers. They should give you a good idea of where to direct your prep ;D

Oh my goodness I know this is 5 months late, but THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE RESOURCES!
Just a quick question, when preparing for half-yearlies on paper 1, how would you recommend studying for it? Especially for response with unknown texts? (because I have never done it before!)

Hey hey! Welcome to the forums; glad you're finding the resources helpful! I would definitely recommend practising with other unseen texts; just choose a random image off google, and try to pick out techniques. Even analyse them a bit if you can; make up an HSC style question, and run with it! Otherwise, past HSC exams are your go-to

I would also make a list of great, easy techniques that you can use in an exam. The comprehension part of Paper 1 is really just about choosing enough techniques, and finding enough information to analyse. So, create a list with some examples, and try to memorise as many as possible.

Good luck! Let us know if we can help you out with anything else :)

Oh my gosh this was singlehandedly the most straight forward, realest thing I've read til this date

My favourite line is hands down
"So, it's seriously important that you walk into the exam as confident as hell, like the cocky bastard you really are deep down inside."

Found my HSC motto to keep me going !!!!

This is so useful! I needed this so bad. But quick question - say if you had finished writing down your essay plans, would you write out at least one of them into a full essay to get a good idea of how much information is to be included/excluded? Or would you consider this as a waste of time? This is because personally, I have trouble with estimating how much I can write.

Hey, welcome to the forums!! ;D

Great question - I think the essay plans definitely need to be used as well as a few full length essays, if you can. It's all about using the time efficiently, and that will be different for different people, but I think doing at least a couple of proper, full length essays is definitely a good thing to do ;D
