Hi Deakin,

What is the maximum increase in Atar that an applicant can attain for SEAS?

Regards,

Scandin9.

Hi Deakin :)

Could you provide me with some information about the English Literature major? What units are available for study in 2017, how comprehensive the major is in general, and the opportunities associated with the major?

Thanks!

Thank you for your question Scandin9,

Over all of the SEAS categories Deakin will give a maximum of 15 aggregate points of consideration for each applicant.

If you'd like to enquire further, we recommend heading to this link: http://www.deakin.edu.au/courses/entry-pathways/special-entry-access-scheme

Hi Coffee,

Thank you for your question.

Students would do a minimum of 8 units in that major, but can do all 11 units if they wish.  An 8 unit major is quite comprehensive given majors in other faculties generally only comprise of 6 units.

In terms of extra-curricular opportunities, the Faculty of Arts and Education offers short term study tours to Japan, Oman, Chile, UK, Germany and other countries to study their culture and literature in more depth.

Further details regarding the major and exact subjects can be found here: http://www.deakin.edu.au/courses/major/literary-studies-bachelor-arts

Thank you, ^MM.

Hi Deakin Uni! :)

I was doing some searching for universities close to the city centre and came across Deakin. The location provided on Google was Deakin University, Level 3/550 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
So I went onto your university website and looked at the locations. The Burwood campus location seems to be about half an hour away from the CBD. None of the other locations are closer.

I was a bit confused as I was given one address by Google and others by the University website. I was wondering, is there a City Campus for Deakin and if so, is it at Deakin University, Level 3/550 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000? Or is your website correct in saying that there is a Burwood Campus but none near Bourke Street? Perhaps I am mistaken!

I would love a clarification. Thanks so much!

Having a quick look at https://www.deakin.edu.au/locations/deakin-corporate-centres/melbourne-corporate-centre it appears that the CBD address is is their Corpatre Centre. So there wouldn't be any lectures/etc. running there, just for businesses and clients to use as meeting rooms it looks like.

Hi Deakin,

(I hope this is the right place to post this even though it's a fairly old thread...) Is there any way to find out how much required ATARs will be different because of fewer international students (presumably) next year? Specifically looking at Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery.

Thanks!

Hi Deakin! I'm in Year 11 and I'm thinking to apply for your Robotics and Data Science online uni extension program. I was wondering if you could please tell me what content is covered in this course?

Thank you!

Given Deakin hasn't posted in nearly 4 years I will try to answer this.

There is still no definite answer on fewer international students Australia will do their best to get as many as they can. I would recommend not to rely on a decrease of the ATAR required next year (it is possible like every year but no one really knows at this moment).

International students are offered course places under a separate quota, so less internationals in 2021/2022 will not impact on lowest selection ranks.
