Picking atar subjects next year

My teacher tells me I should go for applications, but I don't want to do applications because it's the easiest math. I want to challenge myself and do methods. I've already purchased a methods book. Nobody wants to help me though. I would like to do English, Chemistry, Human Biology and Physics.
I would like to do specialist, but I've been told specialist is ridiculously hard. I want better math skills.  I don't have any other friends that do ATAR because they don't like the system and do general. This is my decision at the end of the day. What do you think? :)

Go with your gut. Do whatever you feel is best for you!

But remember that at the end of the day, choose your strengths.
Don't do subjects 'just cos' they scale up. Do them because youre hella good at them and love them to death.
No point doing subjects just for a scale up, if youre going to perform poorly in them anyway. (not saying youre gonna do poorly, but just make sure youre ready for the load you recieve)

I do methods (UNITS 1/2) at the moment alongside further maths (UNITS 3/4) and I must say methods is definately a hell of a lot harder.
I also do chem which personally i dont find too bad, but alot of people do struggle.

At the end of the day, how you do is based on your attitude to learning and how you take these things on. Just remember to do subjects because you love them; not because of an ATAR score. There is life after an ATAR, dont let that number define you!

Try your best, and just go with your gut, but think about your goal in the long run!

(I also sent you a PM, but some further things...)
Firstly, regarding spec...you're going into year 11 right, you could always just try it out for the first few weeks and see how you cope. Like I know one of the top students in my school (like predicted atar over 99.5) did that. He dropped it after the first 6 weeks, there really is no harm in trying it, especially since in the first 6 weeks courses are very moveable. Also, bear in mind that in WA they started spec with the apparently hardest topic, or maybe people just weren't used to it and thought it was hard, and generally a lot of marks improved after. So, what's the harm in trying it, if you are keen?

your teacher thinks you should do applications...you could always do all 3 maths if you want. There isn't anything wrong with doing the easiest maths, but bear in mind apps scales down by like 15-20%. Whereas methods will go up by like 15-20%. ---> WACE marker told me this is the prediction. I think that in year 11 you can just trial a few things out for the first 6 weeks or so. Even longer than that if you want ( I moved a subject at the end of term 1). You seem like a keen person, so hopefully it will work out. Besides if you put the effort in, there is no reason you shouldn't get the reward from it

The rest of your subject choice seems perfectly reasonable and do-able, they were the subjects I did last year. So if you are willing to work, you will be perfectly fine :)

up to you if you want to do 5,6, or 7 subjects in year 12, just bear in mind that only the top 4 will count. You are correct in saying that it is your decision, and just because your friends aren't doing ATAR, does NOT mean that you won't excel, you could get any atar from 0-99.95  :)
In terms of help, I'm sure if you ask your teachers they will help you, that is their job and that is what they are there for. There is also AN who will help you, there are places that you can ask questions from almost every subject, especially for the subjects that you have got down :)

Best of luck
