If you LIKE English AND you're good at it, then I would say yes. I'm doing Lit and English at the moment and I'm loving it.

Of course it's worthwhile if you're good at them! But bear in mind, they are not similar at all, so don't assume it'll be easy :P
@ m@tty, I think SEALs did 4 units 1/2 in year 10, I was trying to remember what they were but  I could only remember 3- I did general maths advanced, psychology and literature. I really can't remember what the other one was... hmmm..

I thought it was only 2, but I didn't stay that long...
So everyone did ~4? That would've been cool! Could've probably snuck your way into a 3+4 also ^.^ Pr0's :P

It's a shame that the SEAL class wasn't very successful, I have to say, probably only a handful of students have decent marks. All the rest either dropped out of school, or did TAFE (not saying people who do TAFE aren't smart, but remember the SEAL class was designed for "academically able students").

Only one is rigid in the top 4, the other one can be in either top4 or next 2

Your highest scaled English satisfies the top 4 requirement. A subsequent English acts as any other subject would; inclusion is based on score alone. A third English can only count in bottom two, and a fourth cannot count for anything.

EDIT: Wait. You can't do four :buck2:

If I was above an "A" level at English (A+ in other words), I would have definetly done it!!!

Basically if you master the essays, youre good for Eng.Lang, and normal Eng.
It's a bit different in Literature though.

I wouldn't say I'm good at them. But I realised that I was doing 8 subjects and only one English, concurrently my understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of English began growing. So I dropped Further(which would have been a bore...) and picked up Lit. So far it has been very enjoyable, certainly appears to be a great decision.

I would say if you are 'good at them' and enjoy them, then there's no reason why not to.

english language is interesting, but difficult.  english on the other hand is easier but boring and a drag.

I don't see why you shouldn't. If you liked sciences and were good at them, would you take two? English is valuable and it's transferrable, so irrespective of what you complete later in life, the communication skills that you develop will be of use. Don't think about it being in the top 4 when you're making your decisions - remember that 2/3 of your subjects will be anyway, and if you're good at something, it's more likely to end up there.
