On a bookclub zoomcall and as soon I turned my cam on (walking up stairs) - I wacked my shin and it really hecking hurts :(

More embarassing that the author of the book being discussed is on the call too yikes
... must be the night for being clumsy :( burnt my hand on boiling water after I spilt some tea on the kitchen bench 😅

So I'm in the honours office atm & the last other person left about 40 min ago (I mean, it is 7:30). Kinda tempted to play music and sing while getting stuff done but for some reason I'm still self-conscious even with literally no one around???

Why is it that I spend more time planning my degree than actually studying it???

I feel so, so sorry for this girl:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x31q18t
It wasn't perfect - she shouldn't have chosen the hardest soprano piece in opera - but she did a very decent job, especially considering she was only twelve.
Completely overshadowed by a nine-year-old, though.
Poor girl.

Why is it that the mere presence of a new Kindle (well, secondhand, but new to me) suddenly inspires me with a desire to buy more books?

It's a trap.

Bought a kindle in 2019, and I still buy more physical books than cheaper Kindle copies 😅

Kindles are excellent for reading review copies of books though!*

*disclaimer: I uh have now read over 100 eARCs since I started reviewing books in maybe 2017 aha

I still prefer physical books as opposed to Kindle.

Me too. But you can get more books (and a lot of really good free ones, if you keep your eyes open) for your Kindle for the same price.
(Certain books though, I'll get print copies, 'cause I really like 'em.)
