Here's a thought:

Whenever I arrive at the station and it's busy, I always form a queue in my head based on when people arrived at the station. The people who got their earliest should have first dibs, so you let them in first, people who come later should wait. Then, out of nowhere, someone new comes in and moves in front of someone who's been there longer, completely violating the imaginary queue and leaving everyone else seething with a hot rage.

Completely bonkers, but it can't just be me, surely?
You know, I'm big on queueing, it's only fair, but I've never really thought about trains a queue. Like, everyone is spread across the platform, so it feels "horizontal", whereas most queues are "vertical". (Those make no sense but you know what I mean).

Replacement busses? 100%, who ever is first at the bus sign, you better fucking wait - especially if it's really messed up and some people have been waiting for an hour, but you just arrive at the station from another bus or something like that.

If the platform is packed, and there's 30 people converging on one door... if you're at the back, pushing through etc is bs. But when there's only like 1-3 layers of people horizontally spread across the platform I've never considered it a line in my head. Maybe I'm rude hahaha.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

A thread for random thoughts for when you're on public transport, or just waiting around for whatever reason.

... Probably not for when you're driving.

Why is it that people insist on standing on the right side of escalators? I want to get past them, but I also don't want to engage in social interaction. This needs to be fixed.
lololololol

people are usually pretty good I've barely ever had someone stand on the right hand side of an escalator - definitely not in the city at least

my biggest pet peeve omg. I just can't with people like this, if they don't move after I politely say excuse me I just push past them. I might be being a bit rude, but honestly if they're the type of person that stands on the right side of the escalator then I really don't care about their opinion of me + they deserve it. (if u can't tell this is a touchy subject for me)

LOL same though. It's so important to keep on the left that I even remind my friends to do it haha! And OMG! I don't even care if I come across rude as well, they aren't gonna see me again anyways :P It would probably be a good reminder for them to stand on the left next time too.

Why are Melbourne's buses so fucking reliably unreliable? Far out.

Also I brought a different Myki instead of my Myki Pass so I'm essentially just pissing away money lol.

#grumpy

EDIT: Bus was meant to leave at 9.10. Arrived at 9.25. Currently 9.30. Just asked the driver why we're not moving. Apparently this is the next bus, and the one I wanted to catch is sitting around the corner broken down. I mean, ffs. Getting that information would have been nice. Still just sitting here.

It got to the point that I didn't even bother checking when the next bus was leaving Monash - I'd just rock up to the bus loop. It was easier that way, because the whole thing was pot luck, anyway.

We had a massive bus strike in my area a couple days ago (for a very legitimate reason), so to supplement the government brought in bus drivers from other areas to cover these routes - these bus drivers had never been to the Sydney Inner West and members of the public (including moi) were having to direct them since they didn't know the routes haha. That was an experience.

Anti-privatisation - a worthy cause imo.

Has anyone ever stepped into the very last carriages on a train? Because everyone just jumps into the ones that have the most crowd and everything.

I always try to get on the last carriage!
The last carriage is generally just as crowded on my train line though! :)

I've worn the same underpants for all of my VCE exams, ATAR day, university offers day, all uni exams, all uni results days - and today, uni graduation.

And today they also retire. #emotions

Meanwhile I wish that the Werribee line actually went through the loop.
Also why aren't there bins at Southern Cross station? :o

I wish that all buses had a system of having stops announced or listed. It's  annoying travelling on buses at night where I can't see the stops and the bus is moving very fast (especially if I'm unfamiliar with the area) :p
