Okay, not one. But what about three? All 682 glorious minutes of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy : Extended Edition.
I had to sit through a LoTR marathon with my brothers - wasn't the extended edition though :P
It was long and tough, but I made it and it made me a better person.
Actually enjoyed those movies, tbh.

I'm a big Tolkien fan, and even I find sitting through them in a marathon pretty difficult (even with my acting-crush on Viggo), so kudoes to you and your brothers!

At the risk of venturing too off-topic; what things was your childhood filled with instead? :)

We got ten timed minutes a day to play a game on the computer, had no TV, and watched DVDs occasionally.

Instead: reading old books, wandering round the back garden telling myself stories, classical music and piano playing - all things I could do for hours at a time. Plus a daily hour of family Bible reading and lots of church events.

My childhood!

Did you happen to read Enid Blyton? She was my favourite childrens' author growing up!

Simpsons is ABSOLUTELY the defining show of our generation, don't think there is much of an argument against it - I really like the crayon one mentioned above, I also really like the one they did (it is recent) with the three different perspectives of the same day, where Margie cut off Homer's thumb?

Like, sometimes it's damn hard to relate to people when I don't even fkn know what Pokemon is about and have yet to watch a single TV show. As soon as TV comes up as a topic of conversation I switch into nod-and-smile-manically-at-apparently-appropriate-intervals mode.

I guess after a childhood compleeeeetely free of those, it's hard to know where to start in assimilating relevant cultural knowledge... the volume of information is overwhelming and I would have to watch thousands of hours of stuff to be up with y'all. :-\
Basically, you just watch what you enjoy. No one watches the same shit. Watch an episode. If the thought of another one is bad, it's a shit show. If you watch one and go "I want to watch more", that's a good TV show for you. Watch enough of the shit you personally like - wallah - cultural knowledge.

I also don't watch TV by the way. I did as a kid but now the only things I watch on TV are sports.

I haven't been into a TV show for years ): Last one was probably Simpsons from like 2010 honestly haha. Mostly use PC and Youtube now. Guess it

I like The Simpsons, but I still believe Family Guy is better.
The Simpsons is too family-friendly for my liking...  :P

The Simpsons could hit you in the feels in a way Family Guy never could.

Nothing beats the early seasons of simpsons (1-10).
The best of family guy is no where near the best of the simpsons.

Point taken - Family Guy can be like, as an adult, take-your-breath-away funny. BUT. "Better"?  I dunno. Simpsons has more sophisticated social/political commentary, and the comedy is really nuanced, in the sense that it's absolutely dead filthy for adults, at stages - and still funny for kids at the same time. The comedy is good from age 5-100, and the "substance" can be quite real, at times. Family Guy has a lot more absurdist/shock humour, with less "substance" than the Simpsons.

And as Joseph said - Simpsons can transcend comedy!

It can't compare to the feels of the iconic TV show of another generation -- M*A*S*H.

I really liked Simpsons. Family Guy had some funny humour but I really did think Simpsons had more intelligent themes embedded as Brenden said.
