Wishing I could spend more time on piano. Sometimes it's more fun than my academics, but rip assignments are hard.

Combinatorics is beautiful. Mandelbrot set is beautiful.

I was stressing over a computing test in my last entry on Wednesday. The test was on Friday. Lol wtf, it was so easy... 60-minute test but I only took 12 minutes to do it.

Also really glad I went to Isaac's performance on Thursday. Choosing to study instead of going to that law revue would've been a waste of time. CLEARLY, the marginal benefit exceeded the marginal cost here. #economics4lyfe

I miss the days when I knew how to do everything :'(

This forum needs some more first year math questions. Every now and then the HSC questions are just boring...

I can't \( \LaTeX\) in peace anymore. Every time I type the align* environment, that star just reminds me of pointers.

Lab partner helped me past a huge road-block in the assignment. So fucking glad.

Linear models isn't as fun as theory of statistics. Not nearly as fun.

Down with algebra. Analysis for life.

Dear UNSW,

I hate you. I really hate you at times.

Thanks a lot. Two of my courses I was gonna do are gonna clash next semester. And my only plan B's? They either involve more clashes, or 9am starts. THANKS.

I can't believe I had to resort to a plan C. This damages all of my intentions on a relaxed holiday back in China. Now I literally have NO other feasible choice but to take COMP2521 in summer, or else my entire degree plan is pretty much fucked.

First the scholarship business, and now this. Ugh, this university is seriously drawing straws right now.

Apart from that most of today has been good. My COMP1511 assignment got fully debugged and it's basically ready for submission now.

Hey Rui, awesome journals, gotta love those fractals! Just a question (which is probably predictable coming from me), why did you drop actuarial studies? Are the 2nd/3rd year subjects excessively hard, or were you just not enjoying it? (It always terrifies me seeing students who are doing much better than me drop it...)

Thanks :)

Hmm, I didn't really mind the intro course last year, but the CT1 course this year ruined a lot at around halfway in. (See UNSW reviews for slightly more opinion on that.) By that point, my interest (no pun intended haha) had flown out drastically. The way they taught forwards/futures/swaps/options didn't even make sense anymore and I complained a lot more than I ever did last year.

Tbh, probably would've just gone back to commerce, but ironically actuarial studies itself was what got me into computing.

I wouldn't say they were "hard" - if I had stayed interested I would probably have performed better as well.

Also, nah, I've seen someone better than me drop as well.

Midsem break finally started.

And I'm stressed.

Gotta work on this lecture.. gotta catch up on stuff for literally every single course i do now, because once again I'm at that point in life where I just can't learn. Ugh. Assignments and exams that I don't wanna sit.

Filed that scholarship application and already a bit ceebs to apply for the rest. Tsk.

Slightly sickening feeling that this lecture won't go as well as the previous one.

I just want a break, really. Or some new kind of motivation to do work. All four of my courses aren't as amusing as they once were
