Just got an email from fanfiction.net that a story from 2011 has been updated, god what a massive throwback (last time I used it was year 8 I think). Not going down that rabbit hole again.

Currently in class and we were asked to reflect on a teacher who made a significant difference in our lives. I just want to publicly shout out to Mr Bates, my Year 9 English teacher, who completely changed the course of my life, encouraging me to pursue my passions and whose teaching, despite leaving after only a year, continues to impact me.

I think I've officially become a uni student by my increase in coffee intake.

One of us, one of us!

I started drinking coffee just after starting uni. Expensive habit when the closest last year for me was $4 :')

Shout out to my engineering teacher in high school for teaching me moments and forces. It saved me the three hours that all my friends spent trying to get it right.

Also skipped today's studio tute in favour of doing the assignment I have due next week. Feeling good though!

Does anyone here take naps and find them to be refreshing?

As a not-a-nap person, I ended up taking a ~two hour~ nap and the sleep inertia is strong (which could be explained by waking up in the middle of the deep sleep portion of the sleep cycle). This should teach me a lesson to not go to bed at 1am when I have to wake up at 7:30am the next day.

Sometimes I take a nap and feel fully refreshed. Other times I wake up and end up feeling very nauseous.

My sleep cycle is all over the place at the moment. Some nights I'm going to sleep at 6 PM and waking up 7 AM the next day. Other nights I'm going to bed at midnight and waking up at 6 AM. I've tried all the usual tricks for resetting but they aren't working this time.

I find a 20-30 min nap refreshing, but don't go over this - otherwise I feel weird and tired. I find after a nap I need to make sure I get up and do something so I don't just feel drowsy, and then I'm good to go

Deciding to enter a writing competition asking for the first 10,000 words of a novel isn't so bad. Deciding three days before the deadline isn't ideal. But when over 1,000 of those words still need major editing (ie one scene needs ripping up and completely rewriting to show something and I... don't know what to replace it with) before sending it in, it means I've got quite some work to do.
See you in three days, I guess.
(Yes, I should've looked closer at the contest earlier to discover the category I'm entering in even exists, which I didn't realise. I didn't think about entering this 'apprentice' category until yesterday.)
