Science or medical science degree?

I have a general idea of the career areas I'm interested in, but I don't quite know what course I should take to get there.
I want to end up in a career of either:
- forensic science (most likely chemistry or investigation), or,
- biomedical ([the practical side, u]not[/u] research).

As I'm leaning towards going to ANU more than UTS or USyd due to location and costs, I've been looking into the Science and Medical Science courses. As far as I've read, both will lead me to either career and the only difference (for me, not in the courses) is the ATAR which hopefully wont be a decider. So, I'm not quite sure which course to go for or if there are any courses that will be better suited for what I want.
Any insights would definitely be appreciated!

And I'm going to the ANU open day tomorrow, so I can ask more questions then :)
HSC 2018: Chemistry | English Advanced | Mathematics | Physics | SOR2

UNI 2019: Bachelor of Science @ ANU

Just my 2 cents: I would probably go for a science degree given that you're not 100% on something yet (which is totes fine) as the breadth of a science degree will give you the wiggle room for you to try stuff from both career paths.
