I wish unimelb would fix their crap when it came to releasing results. It seems more logical to update the WAM on students' accounts after the subject is added rather than before. I mean, it's easy to logically deduce from your friends which subject comes out each time your WAM updates, but seriously, why should eager students like me have to do that?

Does anyone know if final subject assessment (FSA) means they automatically pass you (50%) or do you have to resit the exam again?

Congrats on the results, guys.

I experimented with studying "smart, not hard" this semester and did a lot of stuff with extracurriculars - not sure how smart it was, but I got away with it this time (though only taking three subjects - all of which were interesting and well taught - made it easier).

2018   Semester 2   COMP90014   Algorithms for Functional Genomics  86  H1  First Class Honours
2018   Semester 2   PHIL30043   The Power and Limits of Logic   81  H1  First Class Honours
2018   Semester 2   PHYS20008   Human Physiology  81  H1  First Class Honours

Frontiers in Biomed and Neuropharm also out. Had the best sem of my degree in the only sem where I just needed to pass... only took me 6 semesters (and a summer subject) to figure it out.

2018 Semester 2    MAST30026 Metric and Hilbert Spaces    100    H1    First Class Honours    12.500
2018 Semester 2    MAST90051 Mathematics of Risk           96    H1    First Class Honours    12.500
2018 July          MAST90118 Research Project Part 3       93    H1    First Class Honours    25.000

(The research project is 50 points in total.)

The research project was still looking pretty uncertain at the start of the semester, so this is more than I could have hoped for.

I'll be writing a review for Metric and Hilbert Spaces. Probably the most well-taught subject I've taken in my five years at the university. Look out for other random thoughts (most likely about the research project) in my journal thread also.

Congratulations on the results everyone!

My friend here has always gotten the better of me at uni. Those scores are truly ridiculous.

Can't claim to have done quite as well here, but I'll graduate too.

Probably a good time for our annual reminder that the scores you see on AN are not in the slightest reflective of the kind of scores your cohort are getting. There are a number of biases at play here that will artificially inflate the average score. Only about 10-20% of students achieve an H1 in any given subject, with the majority of those H1s in the 80s. Scores in the 90s are truly exceptional, with regularly scoring in the 90s placing someone at the top of their cohort, basically.

2016-20: MD, UniMelb
2019-20: MPH, UniMelb
2021-: GDipBiostat, USyd

2018   Semester 2   PHIL30043   The Power and Limits of Logic   3   90   H1   First Class Honours   12.500

Hell semester in which I ended up dropping down to just the one subject - but I'm pretty happy with that one subject.

Nice work.

I'm already missing Greg's spirited Wednesday morning lectures - only Greg could illustrate the incompleteness of Robinson's arithmetic with reference to dead cats and lemon trees.
