Transferring from undergrad med (monash) to dent

Is it hypothetically possible to transfer from undergrad med to dentistry if for example I didn't like my first year of medicine at monash? Is it advisable to do so or is it a waste of time and money? Correct me if I'm wrong but is it easier to get into postgrad dentistry at melbourne if you have already done med at monash?

And I've heard something about max facial surgeons (how people doing dentistry can transfer into med), can someone elaborate on this specialisation?

It won’t be easier – they really don’t care about what undergraduate degree you did to get into postgrad dentistry you still have the same pathway as all other students who did a undergraduate degree.
Maxillofacial surgeons complete both a medical and dental degrees so there wouldn’t be a transfer occuring since you need to finish both.

As Sine sad, maxfacs surgeons have to do a dent + med degree and then do postgrad surgical training (which takes 6+ years) - its a very involved process.

Re: not liking med - I realise you're probably a 2019 grad but would you maybe have a go at 2nd year to see if you really don't like it? Your first year of uni doesn't always give you the best impression of what you'll be doing and whether you'll enjoy it. I didn't particularly like the majority of my first year in physio but second year was heaps better and now I'm on placement I absolutely love it! First year can be quite tough with the whole adjustment to uni from high school thing :)
