Can I still do undergrad med if I start another degree?

My UCAT is probably WAY too low this year, even for rural entry which is what I'm going for...
If I start doing a bachelor of science or med sci etc, can I keep doing the UCAT for every year of my degree and keep trying for undergrad med, or would I have to do the GAMSAT by default if I started another degree...? Would my GPA also count (eg if I've done 1/3 or 2/3 years of my undergrad degree)
Does anyone know if there are rural entry options for graduate medicine? Or would I have to go through the normal stream?
Thanks!!

Which state? If you want to go to Monash, sadly you can't. But there are other unis, many in NSW, which allow this. medstudentsonline has all the minutiae (as well as a lot of unhelpful speculation, so avoid that if you don't wanna be stress yourself out). Not a med student, but wasted too much time reading that place during the last holiday lol.

Edit: seems like you are NSW. In that case there is non-standard entry for UoN/UNE JMP, WSU and UNSW (but this one in particularly is very competitive). Also JCU up in Queensland if you want to head interstate. Note that I think UCAT is only valid for the 1 year, so you'll have to redo it.

If I take a gap year would I still be a non-standard student?

You'd actually be considered a high school leaver (i.e. a "standard student") which leaves you open to everything! Just retake UCAT. Of course, the worst part is thinking about what else you're gonna do in that time. Then again, you should cross that bridge when you get there. So yeah, HSC is king right now, especially since your ATAR will be considered again if you take a gap year. GL!
