Choosing Year 10/VCE subjects for going into Med?

Hey, Im interested in going into Med (probably oncology) or performing arts, but unsure of what subjects are needed ect. I'm going into year 10 next year, and accelerating. Also want to take music/drama or theatre studies electives. I just don't know what is the best way of choosing what to do in year 10 and what to leave for year 11/12. My school offers either specialized science with biology, chemistry, physics and phycology (choose 2) or general a mix of all of them and environmental science. Then electives I can see useful are,
Enrichment English and Literature
Health Around the World: You, Me, Them, Us
Enrichment Mathematics
Drama: Performance
Music Performance (Semester 2)
Performing Arts Investigation (Semester 1)
Psychology in Action ( cannot be chosen if a student is studying Specialised Science - Psychology)
Food Technology - Independent Living (nutrition throughout your lifespan)

I can accelerate in,
Biology
Drama
English Language
General Mathematics
Health and Human Development
Mathematical Methods
Music Performance
Psychology
Theatre Studies

We have to do 10 VCE subjects in year 11 and 4 in year 12, with the VCE subjects I can see could be useful are:
English | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
English Language | Units 1 , 2, 3 and 4
Extended Investigation | Units 3 and 4
Health and Human Development | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Further Mathematics | Units 3 and 4
General Mathematics | Units 1 and 2
Mathematical Methods | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Specialist Mathematics | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Drama | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Music Performance | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Theatre Studies | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Biology | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Chemistry | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Physics | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4
Psychology | Units 1, 2, 3 and 4

Just looking for advice  :)

First things first: for your year 12 electives choose the ones you like most, but if you have your heart set on medicine I believe you need chemistry, methods (it is not a prerequisite, but it can be helpful), biology (students who successfully get into medicine but have not done biology would have to do an intensive bridging program). Other then those ones, the other subjects can you whatever you want :)

Biology is not compulsory for medicine, and you can do very well without it. Methods is not a prerequisite for Monash but can be for other unis. Pick the prerequisite subjects (chemistry, any English subject), then pick everything else based on what you enjoy/your strengths. You mentioned performing arts, you can look into the related subjects. It is very much an individual choice and I recommend talking to students at your school who have done these subjects and/or the teachers who teach them.

From my experience, year 10 is mostly a few compulsory subjects then a few electives. I don’t know what you mean by ‘leaving subjects for year 12’. Just because you do a subject in year 10, doesn’t mean you can’t pursue the VCE equivalent in year 11/12, and vice versa. Year 10 is about finding what subjects you enjoy and what you want to potentially choose later on. Choosing an accelerated subject (I assume you mean doing a 1/2 subject in year 10) based on your interests and strengths is probably the best way to go, and you can worry about prerequisite requirements in year 11.

EDIT: your school may have certain rules such as ‘you must do X subject in year 10 to proceed to y subject in year 11’. Be aware of those requirements!
