PLEASE ADVICE ME!!

Hey guys!!

I really need an advice on what to do. So this year I was in year 11 and did 3&4 methods and got 25 study score(raw) so I am not sure if I should redo methods next year to get closer to 30 or not? TBH, as most courses require "AT LEAST" 25 study score for methods, I am exactly on the line so not sure if it is worth it to redo methods or just focus on the other 5 subjects I have and try my best in them. Like, is 25 acceptable for those courses or not? Keep in mind that I have never done tutoring for methods so this is just what I learned in class, the text book and some practice exams(my mistake was doing those papers late). If I do redo methods and get a tutor do you think I would get at least 30 next year?

Just like you I’m in year 11 and I did methods. I don’t think I’m going to redo it although a few of my friends are doing that. I think you should consider what your other subjects are and if they are going to ensure a strong core 4. I’m doing Japanese and Specialist which are heavy scalers, so if I were in your situation I wouldn’t redo methods and depend on those two. What subjects are you doing?

If the course says "at least 25 raw in MM" as their prereq, then you have successfully met it. With regards to repeating, if you find that MM is taking up a lot of your time during year 11, it's likely to do so again which takes away time that you could've used to study for your other 3/4s in year 12.

I got a 35 raw in methods. It’s not the best I could have done and my goal of surpassing my father was not accomplished. Honestly was expecting a 30 after looking at worms exam solutions.

Honestly, it seems like chemistry is going to have to be your carry. If you want to redo methods I would drop legal if I were you. Unless you need it as a pre-requisite for something. Just try to stay positive about these things and look at what you can improve on.

Um the UMAT got replaced by the UCAT in 2019, plus 57th percentile is a horrible score (med schools usually only look at 90+ percentile). So I certainly don't know what I'm doing when it comes to undergrad med admission tests

Are you going to do the UCAT? I am thinking of doing UCAT (which also takes time) but I feel like ATAR is more important at the moment.
