Tara's VCE Journey Journal

Hello!

My name is Tara and I am beginning Year 11 in 2022.

My subjects are:

Literature
Economics
Maths Methods
Specialist Maths
French
3/4 Business Management

About Me
I outside of school, I do ballet classes (I just got my pointe shoes last year!) and work part-time at a job at my local bakery. I am also part of the KLD Scholars Program at MelbUni.

Goals/After Year 12:
Spoiler
This year my major academic goal is to do really well in my 3/4 Business subject, I want to get a 40+, but really I am aiming as high as I can! For my Year 12 results, I hope to get an ATAR over 90.00, to do Maths & Stats at MelbUni, Although, if I don't get this there are plenty of other universities that have lower requirements.
I'm sort of nervous posting this as I have never really posted anything on ATARnotes before. I hope to update this journal every few weeks or really whenever I feel like it.

Hello everyone :)

Sorry I haven't been active recently, the wifi hasn't been working too well at home.

These last few weeks have been okay. I mean the start of the term was super hard and I forgot that there would be such a big jump from Year 10 to Year 11! Thankfully I haven't fallen behind in any of my classes yet but at the same time I feel like that I am even though I'm not?? Idk we are learning so much at school all at once.

Anyways to keep myself feeling better about my school work I have decided to start a new goal/habit which is to read over my notes at the end of the day, week and month. I started this habit last week and it made by feel better but I lost momentum after a few nights. lol.

My very first Year 12 SAC/exam is next Friday the 25th and it is for AOS1 of Business Management. I hope I do well on it.

Thanks for reading !!

Helloooo everyone :)

I haven't been able to update lately because the WiFi is no working too well and I have been studying for my SACs!
I had three SACs this week and two tests: my first Year 12 Business exam, a Spec and Economics SAC as well. Then, I also had a French grammar & vocab test - that I didn't go so well on because I was too busy preparing for my SACs. lol

I think my SACs went pretty well this week but I still have some self-doubts about my performance. My constant studying left me really tired by Thursday - the first day this week that I didn't have any assessments. But I left school on Thursday on a high because we had an assembly and I won some awards for my subjects - which I am really proud of myself for. I ended up topping 4 of my classes. So YAY!

This week coming, I still have another two SACs my methods and French Oral.

Once this SAC period passes I hope to start my new AOS's my bringing in new study routines and pushing myself harder. I have also been finding it really difficult to balance my Year 11 and Year 12 subjects - if anyone has any advice on this, that would be great.

Au revoir,
Tara

Hello everyone!

Last time I updated I had just finished my Year 12 Business, Spec and Economics SACs. My Business exam went really well, I got 100% which I was very proud of myself for! However, my Spec SAC didn't go so well, I only got 78% which was disappointing as I thought I had done better. Some of the marks I didn't really understand what I did wrong so I need to check over them. In Economics, I got 85% on my SAC which is ok considering I crammed for it the night before. Most of the marks I lost was because I wasn't concise in my answers.

Also, my Methods SAC went absolutely terrible because I couldn't sleep AT ALL the night before or the night before that so I was really tired. I still haven't gotten my results back yet, but I don't think I did very well. But my French Oral was really good because I got a 95% which means my speaking skills are improving!

This week, I have my AOS2 Business exam on Friday and I also have a Practice SAC for Literature. We are studying The Book Thief. I have started to write a paragraph using prompts I've sourced on the internet each day - and I've found that my writing as improved quite a lot.

See you soon,
Tara

Queen that sounds AWESOME in Business!! And getting a 78% in spec sounds amazing, don't be too harsh on yourself and I always ask teachers on marks I don't understand, because you would rather know now than next year :))).
bye

Happy Sunday night all!

I am so happy that this week is the last week of the term! It has been very long and I'll be glad of the rest from the stress and school as well as some time to practice any areas that I am struggling in.

I got my results for the Methods SAC last week and sadly, and I didn't do too well... 75%. I guess that's ok when I was half asleep because I couldn't sleep that night before. lol. But I know where I went wrong and I'm going to use the holidays to improve my skills. I also had a Literature SAC on Friday, and although I think my writing was good and my ideas were above standard, I very very much went off track with the prompt. Maybe I'll have to get a big neon sigh with the prompt on it so I don't forget. I also had my second Year 12 Business SAC, for part A of AOS2. I think I did pretty well even though I had a brain fart on two of the questions. But I pushed through it and was able to answer all of the questions to the best of my abilities.

Term 1 isn't over yet! I still have an Economics SAC on Wednesday, which I think I will do well on. It's about the law of supply and demand as well as market structures. On Wednesdays as well, I have a practice SAC for French, which is a listening and reading task. I have been practising a lot of my listening skills at home, so I hope I go okay. Then, on Thursday, I have my Trig SAC for Spec. I understand most of it but I'm really struggling to wrap my head around proofs and  setting strategies to solve them.

Goodbye!
Tara.
