Investigating/Reporting Accountants?

G'day.

I was looking for some information about those guys on the net and mysteriously I couldn't find anything substantial at all. All I know is that they are accountants who report on financial information in a circular or prospectus. If anyone can refer me to/explain this concept in a bit more detail, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks.

Nah they are called reporting accountantas/investigating accountants.

We are analysing this prospectus in finance dealing with an IPO raising money through the sale of securities. They have used an investigating accountant, 'BDO Kendalls Corporate Finance’, in order to write up a report. I want to know exactly what kind of statistics they utilise and the purpose of their analysis.
