I think monash. Monash has the higher reputation. However, rmit has an accounting course where they give you a free job in the fourth year. So you get practical experience with rmit.

thank you :)

also help me with this thread here?: http://vce.atarnotes.com/forum/index.php/topic,35398.0.html
or i might as well post the questions here
If I do Accountancy at RMIT would I be able to transfer to Melb Uni Commerce the following year?
Or Professional Accountancy at RMIT?

& what are my chances of making it into Bachelor of Professional Accountancy at RMIT if my ATAR is well below clear in 86.1 but above 80?
I have SEAS but I think my chances are close to zero..

just going on generalities

theres a higher chance you will be able to transfer into professional accountancy at rmit than melbourne...although if your grades are high then there is certainly a possibility of transferring to melbourne uni either mid year or end of year

they will look at your uni scores more i believe if you've finished a year at rmit
and theres also chance that you can cross credit some of the units at rmit if transferring internally but theres also a real possibility if you transfer to melbourne that you can't and you might have to start from square 1

^ back from square once, ouch. Thanks TL

I'm more towards Accounting @ Monash now, I don't think the uni provides work experience like Professional Accountancy at RMIT does it?

Nope, however I think there is a leadership program that is acknowledged by Accounting institutions (CA/CPA etc.) and firms (EY/PWC/Deloitte) which would then get you into a program/guaranteed job afterwards

r u talking bout this?

http://www.monash.edu.au/pubs/handbooks/courses/0169.html

it says
The outstanding feature of the course is two periods of structured industry-based learning. Students selected to undertake the degree are awarded a scholarship of $8000 per annum in their second and third years of study. The scholarships are provided by industry sponsors, who play an important role in the industry-based learning periods. During the industry-based learning periods, students will work in corporate settings and complete specified projects determined jointly by academics and sponsors.

and here

Participants complete three 12 to 14 week industry placements for a total of 9.5 months work experience over three years.

so i guess you do get work experience which is great

hey its not a crap course so goodluck next year

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1084383
if you look here one person finished it at caulfield
"Since I have recently finished the first year of the BBus(Acc)/BBus(B&F) at Monash Caulfield, my comments can only be confined to the aforementioned course and campus. I have found Monash Caulfield to be an exceptionally organised institution with excellent lecturers and tutors offering not only theoretical knowledge but the application and evidence of such theories in the current business climate..." etc
