You can't do medicine as an undergraduate degreee anymore at Melbourne. You have to complete the Bachelor of Biomedicine, or Bachelor of Science, then sit the GAMSAT and hope that you get into post-graduate medicine offered by Melbourne, from 2011.

Not sure about the engineering stuff, though.

You can't get into medicine after a year of uni in victoria, you either need to get in as a school leaver with no tertiary record or as a graduate. I'm pretty sure the ENTER for engineering at UMelb is comparable to the ENTER for biomedicine

yes im quite sure u can. bioengineering systems is one of the 12 or so majors offered and you take more specific subjects in 2nd and 3rd year for the major. last years cutoff for csp biomed was just over 95 i am not sure what the enter for just engineering degree is (but i dont think its as high as biomed cutoff)
My Subjects:
2006 I.T Systems --> 42
2007 English --> 40
         Methods --> 41
         Spec --> 38
         Chem --> 36
         Physics --> 37
         Unimaths --> 5.5

ENTER: 97.35

I thought you could transfer if your results were high enough.

If you went interstate you could, but not here in Victoria as Monash restricts their med course for those without a tertiary record.
