Different Universities in Engineering

My bro is in year 12 this year and wants to do either Civil or Chemical Engineering and is still unsure of which university to go to.

He is probably leaning towards Melbourne just because of the prestige of Melbourne Uni and the fact that its much easier to access from our house

Does anyone know why Monash is better then Melb, what is the real difference between the two? Is it worth travelling 30 minutes more each day for Monash Engy? ..... also what are the other universities behind Monash and Melbourne for Engineering (in melbourne)

Thanks

The students who do civil engineering at Melbourne seem to be the most demotivated motley crew I've ever met.

Chemical engineering at Melbourne will be the best option, if you must go to Melbourne, but if your passions lie in Civil, I don't recommend Melbourne.

all i can say is.. unless your bro is the type that loves theory.. then don't go to melb uni for its engineering course.
