Daniel do you think we could get LaTeX installed?
I don't think there's any modifications for SMF to allow it to use LaTeX. I'd need to have a look. It'd definitely be helpful for math equations and stuff, though. :)

Whats that?
It's a language used to markup maths equations and stuff. Basically format them and make them look all neat.

Exactly. It also means that it won't be such a displeasure to write out things like "integral of <blah blah> with respect to x"

OK, well I had to host the script on my server (don't have shell access to this one, couldn't compile it), but it won't make a difference really. LaTeX and all its dependencies takes up 133 MB of space for some reason, I'm guessing because of all its fonts :P. I made a simple modification to SMF to give it a "tex" BBCode :)

Anyways, let's try this out:
[tex]\sqrt{x^2+y^2}[/tex] →
[tex]\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}[/tex] →
[tex]\int_{-10}^{10} 2x^2 dx[/tex] →

Time for me to learn LaTex, I guess. I found some documentation at http://www-h.eng.cam.ac.uk/help/tpl/textprocessing/latex_maths+pix/latex_maths+pix.html :)

It's being worked on. Leave it to the professionals.

EDIT: Oops, by "professionals" I meant the administrators of FSN. ;)

I am just wondering because I have typed up notes for Unit 3 of Legal studies which are pretty comprehensive and just wondering if the site needs them then I wouldn't mind sending them or something

Probably would be nice to put them up on the forums for now, or just hang onto them until the system is released.

Can't wait to use LaTeX for maths solutions :)

Actually, they likely upgraded to phpBB3 which looks like just a new skin but actually has a lot more functionality and power. :)
