How stupid.

I don't see how a guy could feel happy about controlling what his wife eats, wears, does during the day and the way they wear their hair.

I'll give an example. If I was in a happy relationship with my hypothetical wife, and I knew she hated Chinese food and it got her sick everytime she went, I wouldn't take her there because I felt like it. Like, how can you feel good about yourself knowing that your wife isn't happy with what shes eating. Wouldn't that make you feel horrible?

I don't see how controlling your wife to those sort of extremes would be any guys idea of happiness.

It only happens in the home, so the women know what is on the outside and might be empowered in their work. However, still, it's hard to be sure how much it's the woman's choice in the first place, how much she was pressured, either in the immediate sense or through values forced on her earlier. Plus it seems likely that life will greatly condition their emotions and behaviour, influencing them even when their husband isn't around
