believe me i've thought this through. yeah im weird but the 2 hours of extra driving every day for 5 years is just too much of a deterrant. The scholarship will not cover all the extra expenses if it money ur talking about. believe me if they swapped locations i'd be at Monash in a heartbeat.
btw ell, did u have to apply for these scholarships ur talking about?
2007: Religion and Society (42---->42.1)
2008: Mathematical Methods CAS (50),
Specialist Mathematics (47---->52.8),
English (43---->42.9),
Chemistry (49---->49.7),
Physics (45---->47.5)
ENTER: 99.80 :)

yer i see your point. btw yes you do have to apply for those scholarships. There based on categories from what i know, or they can give you scholarships for academic achievement.

Did you have to apply or something?

You don't have to formally apply for the scholarship I'm after (source), although I sent them an email requesting consideration since they ask you to on the website.

Yeah,  probably go Monash. Got offered a Monash Support Bursary aswell to make the decision easier.
Plus, I'd be wasting my hard earned ENTER if I went RMIT.

Whatever you do, dont think ur 'wasting' ur ENTER. Go where u wanna go. If its Monash, by all means go there. Its a great uni with awesome civil facilities. But dont just go there cos its got a higher enter

RMIT have good work placement programs. I know two RMIT eng graduates. One is manager at Origin Energy and lives in Eaglemont and the other has a three storey house. yes, I did get a scholarship for Monash but I really dont know if its worth the cost of buying a car, the petrol, the insurance, the rego, etc, etc...
And no, as much as it sucks, RMIT dont offer any scholarships (or they didnt to me anyway)
what! you got a scholarship from a prestigious uni but refused and decided to go to a less prestigious uni which has not offered you a scholarship? weird.

Prestige Quality

If I was offered a scholarship to Melbourne Uni's (former) IS degree, and had the choice between that and going to Swinburne, I'd take Swinburne in a heartbeat.

Monash does have a superior Engineering faculty, but for me, having to travel approx 1hr 45min to and from Monash every day simply isn't worth it.
Some snippets of what goes on in IRC:

I'm doing Civil Engineering but I put RMIT up at number one and UoM second. Even though I might have made UoM with my ENTER, RMIT sounded better. Hope I made the right choice.
2007 - Further 44

2008 - Methods - 37
          English - 31
          Special Maths - 29
          Physics - 29

ENTER 83.65 (EPIC FAIL)
