Yehh but still it will always be easier to get a 40 in methods and see it go up to 45 after scaling (ie top 8% or something like that) rather than getting say a 45 raw in legal (top 2%).

Even though there is supposedly "more competetion" in methods, it doesn't make legal an easy subject. You probably know that.

The you before was directed at applexy. Hes a gun at accounting but vce acc fucked him over.

Oh oh oh.
http://www.unimelb.edu.au/HB/areas/AMGREEK.html#S13460       <----Modern Greek
http://coursesearch.unimelb.edu.au/coursedetail.aspx?cid=1507&ctype=1&typeall=1&typepg=0&typeug=0&typesc=0&stype=careerall&sterm=[careerall]
^^^^ New Gen Com

If anyone cares to take a look at that...
If you go to "structuring a major"
If I add up all the compulsary units for a beginner in greek (meaning just the sem 1&2 for years 1,2,3 but no additional greek studies like linguistics etc) then that would give me 100 points right? And if I was to do Commerce @ Melb then I would need 100 points in  breadth area subjects?
So I would be able to do Modern greek (beginners) for 3 years as a subject and that would be able to take up my entire breath subjects, leaving me with my core subjects in Commerce right?

That would be so madddddddddddddd
hhahaa
Now I just have to get a bloody good enough ENTER!!!
It would work out very nicely considering I've always wanted to learn greek (I'm alright but I can barely hold a conversation, usually understand the greek but reply in English).

So the breadth area would allow me to study greek as well as complete my degree in commerce =)
wowww
Oh btw I dont want to major in it =S

Can someone confirm if all my facts are correct?

Yeh but 43 after scaling with subjects like specialist and methods which you seem to be good at is imo, easier then 43 after scaling in subjects like legal, accounting (as you may realise soon [soz] =[ ) and busman.

Yeah, lol. But I'm trying to get 45 for methods and possibly 41-42 for spesh lol, but I know what you mean.

and Yeah, VCE acc raped me hard ROFL.

I'll get back to you the greek thing ;)

I want to do commerce @ Melb Uni next year, because the breadth will allow me to study a language at the same time.
Besides, it's much closer to me than Monash. I don't mind the idea of RMIT or Deakin but my first preference is definitely Melb Uni.

90 Guaranteed ENTER for '08, ~95 for CSP.

Same as me
What language are you looking at studying?
Mine would have to be at L Trobe Uni as part of a cross institutional study of modern greek. I would love if I could do that. See above if you haven't seen. And that should take up my entire breadth subjects. May be the same for you. =)

hmm can you still do a diploma of modern languages along side undergrad degrees? i wonder if you could do two languages along side commerce.. one through breadth and one through a diploma of mod languages.

not that ill get the score or methods requirement for commerce, damnit. should think of these things before hand

(2 days ago i was saying commerce would make me want to stab myself)

gar im an idiot. is the number of commerce places increasing or decreasing this year?

Well, according to the stats commerce is on the increase :) :( :o :P

There was a specific figure of the increase but, unfortunately, I can't remember it :(

I hope Ahmad enjoys commerce. I have a bad feeling that I pushed him to it 8-) Nah, he will become the 1337est actuary in the world getting all the offers ;)

Yeh there was an increase in applicants for commerce @ melb but thats mostly due to them cutting so many undergrad degrees, hence there is more availability and more demand.

Mel, same boat as me haha.

http://www.monash.edu.au/study/coursefinder/course/0179/

Bachelor of Commerce, Monash University.
Cut off ENTER around 90.35 for CSP place according to VTAC website but I was under the impression that it was actually 93. Ah well.

I think behind Melbourne it would be the best place to study Commerce. Some of my uncles friends who are in big business seem to say that they don't even give interviews for people who haven't studied at Melbourne or Monash (for certain business-ey jobs) so I'd say its a good course
