Hi guys,
I am just wondering if there is a efficient way of studying for Economics. Does it involve reading the newspaper often?
Thanks.
PS: I didn't do Economics 1&2 but am currently doing Units 3&4.

Good question and I'd appreciate it if someone provides some advice :)
Also, good luck this year! I haven't done units 1+2 either :P

I didn't actually read the newspaper at all studying economics, although i did find interesting things on the internet etc. to read on economics. http://www.economistsdoitwithmodels.com/ is a really good site for an introduction to economics and its relevence to current events. Other than that, the Salla study guides are really good, and the textbook.

I was planing on studying in much the same way i did for legal- rote learn concepts and rote learn real world examples and do a fair amound of practice questions.
IMO it will be easier in this subject with that plan because there's a lot of aplication of principles to hypothetical situations, so a solid understanding of concepts would make all of those questions simple.

Read, read and read.
Can't stress that enough. Rote-learning is pretty much useless in Economics (bit of exaggeration here).
If you understand the concepts (meaning you can explain WHY or HOW something happens), you will be able to answer any and every question in the exam.
Understanding of economic theory will come through exposing yourself to real-life examples and reading theoretical ones.

This.
Don't argue.
