If you use and appreciate the program then consider clicking the + at the top of the post.
*If you enter a score above that of the maximum possible for the particular unit/exam the results will not be correct*
I spent my precious exam study time writing a program to automate study score calculations...
Currently the process of calculating your SS is little used and requires you to gather allot of data which is often out of date or no longer applicable, so I have streamlined that process and created a simple Windows based (C#) application which will calculate study scores based on Unit 3, Unit 4 and predicted exam (numerical) scores.
The application is very simple to use although currently only services English, Further Mathematics, Accounting and Maths Methods, I will add other classes over the night and week (allot of painstaking data entry involved)
To use the application:
* Select your class from the list
*Enter the unit/exam scores
*Hit the submit button
*cry or smile depending on the result

How accurate is this calculator?
Well as accurate as it can be given the information available. Generally it will calculate within 2-5 points of the study score you will receive; I have tested this extensively with past students statement of results and it is always within range of there score. Although given the information such as cohort ranking that cannot be added to the equation there will always be a slight inconsistency.

and today is the day i procrastinate

Is it normal to get an 'unhandled expectation' error when opening the app?
Only started since it said updating on bottom, app still works but doesnt update
-
Is there anyway to open this app is OSX for Mac?

Is there anyway to open this app is OSX for Mac?
Same problem here!
Luckily, my parents have a windows comp so i just used theirs.
I suppose you could try using bootcamp or something like that (wine?)
-
Unfortunately no, this is a windows based program however bootcamp will probably work for it.
As for the unhanded exception, I will take a look at that, does it update then when it reopens the new version you get the error? if so, I would delete the program from your desktop or documents and download it fresh, may be a file error.

Probably could get Mono (since the program uses .NET Framework) to get it to work.

Mac life :(

Mac life :(
hahaha this may sound weird and ironic but I actually use a Mac as well, take that for confusion. I think I will set up a running version on my server and just allow remote input from a website, so you will be able to do it online - just may have a bit of a delay when delivering results.

Does it calculate the 'minimum' type score? From the screenshot, 42+ seems really conservative - is that an overarching theme? This seems really cool though. I imagine it'd be insanely difficult to get it as accurate as the ATAR Calc given the lack of data for specific study scores?
-
Yeah it obviously can't have the same accuracy as ATAR calc given that factors such as class scaling aren't possible to know so it will calculate usually within 4 marks or so. It is generally a more conservative estimation although the way it works is what ever GA scores you enter it will benchmark them into specific ranges for what letter grade that score represents, so for example for an A it would put it into one of the following categories; (Low-Low A, Low A, Medium A, Low-High A, High A) then put that mark into a further range then calculate them all together and again rank it against a predicted study score. It's about as accurate as it can possibly get given the information provided.

Will you be increasing support for methods?

Will you be increasing support for methods?
I will add methods tomorrow, I had tasked someone to enter the data for me although they don't seem to be willing anymore which is why it has taken longer than expected.

Basically everyone's feels
Kudos to whoever made this wow
-
are the results before or after scaling?
-
are the results before or after scaling?
The results are before scaling which is why it isn't 100% accurate although 9 times out of 10 it will be within 1 or 2 points, it is still very accurate.
