Title: Can I skip BTC1110 (Comm Law) lectures ?
Post by: Zlatan on March 01, 2017, 07:21:02 pm
Hey guys,

Could someone who's done BTC1110 tell me whether it would be okay to just watch the recordings for the lectures ?? Normally I go to most of my lectures but this one's my only class on a Friday, which makes me quite reluctant.  :-\

Cheers

I haven't done BTC1110 yet. Just like any subject, it depends on whether you will personally benefit from sitting in a lecture theater. Would you ask questions? Would you be more focused by being there? Its mostly a preference. I like going to lectures and meeting people, and I feel like I'm being more productive by actually turning up than staring at a screen for 2 hours. Also, it depends on whether the subject requires you to be there for some reason (except for midterms, not sure why this would be true :p).

I think you're better off asking someone who has actually done the unit though.

I'd definitely go! Did the subject 3 years ago and found it crucial to attend the lectures due to the intense discussions that the microphone didn't pick up. Perhaps the teaching style/unit co-ordinator has changed however in the 3 years since...
