November 1st. Enough said.
I will fight nicely converse with anyone who thinks otherwise.

As someone who spent 3 years working in a supermarket, I will
fight respectfully disagree with anyone who thinks that playing christmas songs in November is okay.

Offended. The only reason I haven't put up a Christmas tree yet is because I've been busy with exams. Is December 1st too early for Christmas songs (in your opinion)?

I don't like it but I'll tolerate it. In my family, we normally put up our christmas tree sometime in the first week of december (although it's been getting later as we get older), but we don't do much else until school ends which isn't usually until a week or two before christmas. But in the context of a shopping centre, I'll tolerate music from the start of december (the coles near me has had decorations up for a weekish already, I do not support it).

For me Christmas is December 25th and is about being away camping with family. This year my family won't be away camping then so I need to figure out if I'll escape into nature on my own or go to a Christmas event family or friends will actually be at.
I recognise that this is not standard so I'm not going to disagree (respectfully or otherwise) with anyone having a different understanding

I'd hope for swotvac not to extend that late :o

Christmas starts as soon as my older sister yells 'cAlEb iTs ChRisTmAs PuT uP yOuR fUcKiNg TrEe'.

Yeah the 1st of November is way to early. My family has always put up the Christmas tree on the 1st of December. However, it has becoming increasingly more busy this time of year as we get older, so it ends up being a bit later in the first week. For me the celebration part really starts on the 23rd - 25th. I end up going biscuit crazy and make a gingerbread house plus gingerbread men and spending time with family (traveling long distances too.).

I haven't made gingerbread in years... I think you might have inspired me to make some this year though.
You should definitely post your gingerbread house in your baking thread :)

My boyfriend's family put their tree and decorations up on December 1. I'm more of a the week before Christmas sort of person.
Having worked in retail for the past few years, the further away we can push Christmas, the better. It's totally not appropriate to be playing Christmas stuff in November lol

I did a Santa march last week with my band ...
I reckon mid November-December. I've got a bunch of Santa marches/Christmas carols coming up with my band but I get sick of Christmas music really quickly. We normally put the tree up the first week in December-my little brothers excited but I'm not as into it anymore.

I mean working on a Santa photography set means that I have carols and Mariah Carey still stuck on my head some 12 months later, however, I do reckon Christmas is really only on the 25th (December). :D
