To be honest, do what feels right to you. If you find it easier or like it more, all the more reason to just go for it. :)

There’s a reason I switched to Japanese and not do Chinese, despite studying the latter for longer.

You say in the poll title that you want to pick up Chinese and drop French. What's the reasoning behind that?
