Haha nice to see you again! Glad to see ur doing well, despite some stresses in certain subjects.
I don't really have much advice to offer, but considering the complaints that vcaa recieved last year on the methods exams form like everybody, I think they won't pull such as...interesting move again.
Good luck on exams!

First exam done - Further Maths Exam 1

I am going to be honest, a lot of the questions on the exam blindsided me... like a lot. I did every single past VCAA exam as well as the NHT ones and I feel like a lot of the questions were completely new and had never appeared before. Don't know if that was just me or if VCAA decided that us having two years of remote learning was enough punishment for us. I am completely refusing to look at solutions online as I don't want to completely blow my hopes at getting a good score but unless I manage to get full marks on Exam 2... I don't think I will be getting in the 40s. It's a bit of a blow to my chances but I'm taking the hand that I have been given. Who knows, maybe everyone else had the same issues I had

Hi,

First of all sorry about how the exam went. I think you might still have chance as exam was really difficult and lets be honest everyone would have lost lot of marks. So even if you felt you did bad you should consider  that everyone in the state had the same difficulty thus might have messed up the exam.

I also just want to say best of luck for your exam 2  :)

Thank you for the kind words! It was really hard to think about it that way when I left the exam hall but at least I have been able to put it more in perspective since then. I have talked to a few of my friends from different schools and the general vibe is that it was a really hard exam

Just going to add a little addition here: I got school vice captain!!

I am honestly happier to have received vice as it means that I don't have *as* many commitments as the captain, giving me some time back in order for school and classes. Next year is gonna be busy, either doing 4 or 5 subjects depending on my scores from this year as well as producing the school production!

Gosh I totally agree with you here - that exam was pretty demoralizing, and I've also done all of the (current) and NHT exams, yet there were still a TON of completely weird questions. You have the right idea to not check though, I have no idea why people do it tbh as it just seems demoralizing!
I'm sure you'll smash it for exam 2, and honestly you still probably did pretty well for exam 1!
Good luck!!

Thank you! The temptation to check my answers has been eating away at me but I just keep reminding myself that the answers posted may be incorrect and therefore reading them would make me feel worse. Good luck on exam 2!!!

Should I be asleep right now so that I feel better for my exam tomorrow? Yes
Am I going to instead take a nap before my exam because it's in the afternoon after I finish some things off in my bound reference? Also yes
Have I spent the weekend scouring old exams to see where they plucked the types of questions that were in Exam 1 from? That would be a third yes
Has it been successful? No
Do I feel like VCAA changed the study design without telling any of us? Yessir

Good luck to everyone who has exams tomorrow, you got this psych students as well my fellow further students!!!

First Methods exam is done  :) :)

Here's hoping I scored enough marks, along with tomorrow to at least get myself a 25 so that I meet prerequisites. Like further I am refusing to look at any solutions online, and I am happy because I managed to put something in for every question. It may not have been a correct answer but at least I have working out and stuff in order to maybe scrape a few more marks out of the exam

Finishing up my bound reference tonight for tomorrow and then after tomorrow I only have legal left as my last exam

(yes I still have year 11 chem exam but that doesn't matter to me at all at the moment)

I am done with maths, I will never have to do maths again in my life (please nobody remind me that chemistry contains a lot of equations). The second methods exam was pretty... bad to be honest which I honestly expected since the first one wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I figured out how to solve one of the multiple choice questions in the last minute of the exam and put the answer in just as it was time up so I am happy that I know I got at least one mark.

Over the weekend I have two Chem SACs to do (as I missed them because of exams), one is a research poster based off an experiment we did at Ecolinc and the other is completing the booklet that we were given at Ecolinc which forms the basis of the research poster.

Only one more 3/4 exam to do which is Legal. I have forgotten all of the cases so that might be a slight issue but I have time to revise between now and Wednesday without worrying about math
