Post by: jinx_58 on June 21, 2021, 07:32:26 pm
HELP!!

I have an English exam tomorrow and its to write a short story based off a poem 800 - 1000 words.

I know the storyline and what to write, but its around 670 words.

How do I increase my word count?

The quickest way would be to add more descriptive language in the story. Stuff like similes, metaphors, alliteration, onomatopoeia (and more) would help you get the most out of the ISMG. Basically, if you do more 'show don't tell' then you will be alright. The type of exam that you're doing is literally what I just did a few weeks ago in IA2. This exam will really give you a taste of what's to come in Year 12.

All the best :)
