Title: 1st Bio SAC Results
Post by: 34590 on March 06, 2011, 11:25:01 am

Mine is announced next week. So nervous.

So how did everyone go?
And what is techniquely a "Good" mark?

If your aim is 40 a good mark is a solid high A.

If your aim is 45 a good mark is an A+.

If your aim is 40 a good mark is a solid high A.

If your aim is 45 a good mark is an A+.
It would depend on how strong your cohort is as well.
For example, if you have a weak cohort you would be looking to get 100% each time otherwise the top mark in your cohort.
Whereas if you have a strong cohort then being ranked in the top 10-15 or whatever wouldnt be too detrimental unless you want to get a near perfect score.
Just do the best you can each time.

We're talking SACs - not exams!

Yes. 1 sac result doesnt determine whether you can score above 40. If you start getting higher results i.e. high A - high A+ than the possibilty of getting a higher score is increased. But remember that your ranking in your cohort is also important.

^^ Did he manage to pull off a top ranking in the end, or was his cohort ridiculously good?

My cohort is ridiculously good (MHS), and he had great exam marks. He definitely wasn't top ranked.

Would it be possible if your cohort is weak?

Would it be possible if your cohort is weak?

I think so, as long as there are high A+s in exams and SACS improve after the B+.

Last year a friend of mine got a low B in his first bio sac, he went on to get a 46.

i got 88 - is this an A? and if it is, is it a low or high A? :/
btw when they calculate the sac marks do they use your percent or write it like somethign over something - in this case 22/25
i have no idea wat rank i am in my weak cohort but i noe someone else got 23/25   :buck2:

22/25 would probably be A+ .
Grades for individual SACs have little meaning though.

Please don't make this assumption. A friend got fairly high A+s in exams and an A in SACs and got a 39. Don't make his mistake, every SAC counts.

I think 23+ is an A+ btw (at MHS anyways)

This happened to my friend as well, but we had a harsh marking teacher :s Try your best in all sacs.

Something usually on Homeostasis, eg. regulation of oxygen and CO2

I got 24/25 (96%) for the first SAC .. I know someone else in my class got 24.5, and I think another person got 24/25. Ridiculously weak cohort  :(

Try a 23/25 with another on 23, one on 24 and one on 25 in a weak cohort.... =.=

better than me christiano. i got 22 and found out laters that someone who i thought was weaker than me got 23, another got 23.5 someone else got 24.5 and i betcha someone got 100% =.=
but i guess i knew i did bad after that sac - i thought the teacher would mark me hard and give me a 76ish. so i guess i should be thankful :)

EDIT: weak cohort too. NOT THANKFUL ANYMORE  >:(

what is a weak cohort?
Title: Re: 1st Bio SAC Results

A cohort is all the students doing a particular subject from your school or if you're talking about your year 12 cohort then it's all the students in your year level. Therefore a weak cohort is a cohort that you think won't do very well in exams which would result in lower study scores.
