Anyone else trying to get 2015 entry into JMSS?
To prepare I think I'll try and squeeze in 2-3 hours of study a day and finish Year 9 Maths Curriculum as well as Year 9/10 Science stuff :). Going to be a lot of hard work haha.

Hey I'm doing the jmss test this year as well for 2015.
But i'm really confused as to what i should study for science, should it really be year 10 standard?
The test are
-numerical reasoning
-reading comprehension for science????
-verbally reasoning
-two test.
Im really confused as to what type of writing it is like analytical or persuasive like macrob and narrative or something.
And does anyone have a general idea as to what the cut off mark is? or are there none. Because last year when i did the Macrob test i started to stress because of it. I would assume  it's more low than the mel/macrob ones.
Can anybody help?

And no theres no verbal reasoning test ,  theirs numerical , mathematics and the two writing pieces .
Also , the writing is science based . One essay will be a prac the other one an essay on a scientific topic or concept.

Hey! The tests are:
Maths Test
Numerical Reasoning
Science Test
2 Science essays

So the emphasis is on maths and science, with no English :).

For Maths I am going through the Year 9 curriculum, as well as polishing up on the Year 8 stuff. Doing some practise tests as well... Can never get enough of those. Some of the concepts are quite challenging though (Compared to Year 8...) and self studying is a little daunting.

For Science I am reading books, writing notes about various topics, watching videos on Khan Academy and doing practise ICAS tests... I suppose having breadth>depth is important because you have no clue what you will be tested on. Practising writing a few scientific essays should be helpful as well, although they are annoying  :-\.

Good luck! Hopefully we can both get in haha. Sent you a PM too :).

Probably depends if you are science or literacy orientated. But according to friends, the JMSS is easier than the MH test (For each respective year level), so it should be the same with MacRob.
But who knows...
