Hi,
My brother is now in year 6 and is about to do the SEAL test for Box Hill within the next few weeks.
I've been trying to find out about the program but I am uncertain about what sections there are and the types of questions they ask.
If anyone who has recently done the test could give some tips and a bit of guideline, it'll be greatly appreciated by me and my brother.
Thank you

Hi,
My friend recently undertook the SEAL program in year 7 at BHHS and noted that the test involveds an aptitude test, a mathematical reasoning test and a creative writing exercise.

It is possible that the school creates it's own test however it is very similar to the 'select entry test format' that can be accessed throughout this URL:http://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/parents/secondary/pages/practicetests.aspx. It will be worthy of your brother practising lots of these to properly prepare.

I hope this helps  :)

Thanks clarke54321!
Just wondering do you happen to know what the aptitude test is?

An aptitude test is something that measures a student's natural ability and in regards to BHHS seal test I believe that there is a numerical reasoning and a verbal reasoning test.

Here's what each test involves:

Numerical reasoning:

Measures the ability to think and reason using numbers. This includes series, matrices, arithmetical reasoning and deduction.

Verbal reasoning:

Measures the ability to think and reason using words and language. This includes vocabulary, word relationships, classification and deduction.

The other tests undertaken are achievement based tests. Like a mentioned in my other post, edutest will provide you with more information and practice tests on the format of these selective entry tests.  :)

Ahh, I remember the good old Year 6 days...

Have a look at that link, when I did the Enrichment test at MWSC, it was with it's weight in gold.

He tests may be the slightest bit too advanced, but they'll definitely help your brother a tonne.

Inbox me if he needs anything.

Good Luck! :)
