Post by: Anne Boleyn on February 09, 2019, 07:12:45 pm
Does the ocean (rivers ect) symbolize anything in Women Of Troy?

Thanks!

I haven’t read Women of Troy, but if it’s mentioned a lot or if the author is only mentioning water during specific moments then most likely yes.

Water is often symbolic for life and purification. If the events sorta fit that, then I would definitely suggest looking more into it.

Remember when analysising a text it’s just easier to assume that everything the author writes is symbolic in some way  ;D ;)
