This forum was looking a little dead so I thought I would liven it up a bit.
Now we all know it's important to stay healthy and fit (yes even whilst we are busy studying) so what activities does everyone reglularly participate in to stay fit/have fun etc?
As a regularly thing - I go to the gym pretty much every 2nd day.
I also play sport some weeks depending on schedules.
-
i play footy on the weekends aswell as train 2 nights a week and go for a jog on the 3 nights im not training.
-
I don't stay fit :)
-
ditto,
despite two soccer sessions a week
-
Yeah, neither.
-
i run
-
Hmmm....I go for walks. I find that it helps me clear my head.
-
I had compulsory sport, 2x training a week (which meant finishing at 4:45 on tuesday + thursday) and saturday (which inevitably involved a bus trip or 2 to geelong or other miscellaneous 1.5 hour away destinations every season, good fun)
Now, I walk up and down at work? xD
-
I do cross country for school.
We also have an hour of sport per week at school.
-
hmmm keeping fit.... yeah... i would say running in the morning from my house to monash uni and then bursting into lecture theatre late, puffed out and about to pass out. i think that keeps the blood pumping.
-
ah i either go for jogs in the morning or i do pilates or the gym ^_^ ...
-
Basketball. Training on Thursday nights and games on Saturdays.
As well as playing at recess and lunch every day, at school. :)
-
Ice skating is my #1 sport - last year I went 2 times a week but now as it's Yr 12 I've cut back to once a fortnight (which is absolutely torturous for me..I need to skate!). I also play some tennis, and I ski in winter. Generally my daily fitness routine involves doing some exercises to improve my flexibility and balance, but that's more for the sake of my skating than my actual fitness lol!
-
Soccer, soccer and soccer.
:P
-
I walk. I would also swim if ANU had a pool.
-
Horseriding. Despite the fact that the horse is the one doing a lot of the legwork, its actually quite good exercise.
-
Skiing. Bit of training for that when there's no snow on the ground too.

How?
I'm for skiing, although I just started snowboarding, not sure which one I'll choose on my next trip
-
Running, cycling, some core strength exercises. Trips to Japan to "learn the language" during our summer :P

i find skiing wayy easier than snowboarding and way more fun
with boarding- you basically have to fall on your knees everytime you want to stop - i could not move the next day lol
-
wow we have a nice wide range of sports/activities people participate in :)

u only need to position your board perpendicular to the downward slope and tilt it upwards/lean back to the required angle -that's if your not going too fast so you don't do somersaults :o

Yeah I do that also. Occasionally.
-
I win at being fit.
Also water skiing > Snow skiing.
-
No way, Fitness.
Snow skiing > everything else.
-
Snow skiing > everything else.
Pheh, 'sif.
-
YOU TELL THEM COREY
-
how do you keep fit?
I don't. Well, sometimes I'll walk home from the library instead of tramming, but it's only a 10-15 minute walk. I'm pretty lucky in the way that I don't put on weight regardless of my lack of exercise.
I would also swim if ANU had a pool.
They don't? Aww. There must be other pools close(ish) by, though? (It's likely I'll decide to opt for ANU next year)
-
Wii Fit :)
I walk everyday..

Yeah, there's a pool in civic which is pretty close.

Skiing is simply the coolest!!
-
Yeah! Training kicks off next week at school and I booked some accomm today :D The season is close ;D
-
Walking to the fridge/pantry then back to my desk. It's really good, I do it about 6-12 times a day.

Lol, I don't think that counts ;D
-
I really want to be fit but I cbf'ed. :P
Yeah...
I reckon my exercise is walking from lecture to lecture at uni because my lecture theatres are usually very far from each other.

Yeh I think it is so important to be fit and healthy, there's so many benefits
-
Yeah, I forgot I walk at least 2.5km a day in transit to bus stops and back home, then another few easily racked up walking around uni. I should take one of those step counters out for a day.

MANCHESTER UNITED. DESTINY.

...sorry.
:P
Meanwhile I'm the fat/unfit one. I should really get back to Tae Kwon Do.

You know, if you didn't exist it would still be 2.5km from home -> closer bus stop, and closer bus stop -> home added together :P
Just sometimes like yesterday that is 2.5+1.2 which I don't overly like but meh. :)
-
MANCHESTER UNITED. DESTINY.
Right on :).
-
I'm going to jog every day. I used to do this but I stopped.
-
I used to say I will jog every now and then. I don't even do that anymore.
But I do play school sport - aths, soccer, indoor cricket, softball, netball, volleyball
We train once a week. This week I have squash on tuesday, soccer thursday and volleyball friday
-

why do u work out at home if u do gym other days?
-
I'm going to be fucked this term. Playing AFL and soccer for my college (though I'm keeping in soccer, so that's not quite as stressful). And on top of that I'll be training for IB (Inward Bound), which is this intense long distance running competition held at the end of term between all the ANU colleges. So lots of 20+km runs in the evenings.
So I'm guessing I shall soon be very fit, and very very tired all the time...
-
I play tennis :), also hit the gym whenever im told to >_< , try to run as much as possible, but find it very unmotivating and boring, short sprints are my subsitute for long distance running :P
-
i do home workouts 3 times a week and go gym twice a week
-
I play playstation to keep fit
-
gym
-
Tennis
-
i ride my bike :D
-
i used to go gym 5 times a week. but now coz yr 12 is fucked. i go twice a week, not even, and i feel like an obese fat hefa fuck ! :) fantastic isnt it.
-
i live on campus for uni and every tuesday we play sport against the other unit
-
Hand balancing / Calisthenics.
-
Gym about 2-3 times per week. Sadly, I don't play any competitive sport anymore.
