as for my hsc journey; to put it bluntly, it's been crap. i haven't been achieving as much as i'd like because of my low motivation levels, and i think i'm looking forward to the end of this year a bit too much. i get put down very easily by marks, even though i'd like to think i'm growing from that because i'm slowly starting to get into the hang of things, so making plans for what's to be handed up and done by the end of each week and what not.definitely felt like this when I was in year 12, there were periods of time where I had low motivation and looked forward to the end alot, and I was also put down by low marks :P

just hang in there, there isn't much to go, you are almost done! :)
also, what are you planning on doing next year? :)
I think this thread might prove really helpful for you in these last few weeks! Especially if you're saying motivation is a struggle - sometimes writing about that forces you to reflect upon it and can end up motivating you...you can track your progress, and everyone here is your cheer squad!
What's making you so excited about the end (other than no more HSC!)? What are you looking to study after? Or work as? Or where to travel to? What's the light at the end of the tunnel? :)
yea maybe! i'll try and post every night. :-)
my excitement about the end mostly comes from being so over this year and being ready for a fresh start. i'm looking to study international studies and media (looks like i'll be in uts next year, then transferring because the atar cut off for unsw is unattainable for me) and i'll hopefully be travelling a lot in the next couple of years.
thanks for your message!
UTS Communications pals! You, me, and Susie! The end is near, you fantastic thing! You're on the home stretch.
not an official entry, if you can call the longer ones that, but i am so so so so happy with what i got for business. of course, there's still stuff i need to improve on (particularly the short answers, they could be a lot better). this is a huge improvement from half yearlies and i'm. just. so. happy.

Congratulations!!! So happy for you ;D
Really great to hear. :) Well done!
period 3 - study // a very productive study. finished up a legal essay, started on a maths past paper.
Jeez, I never got much done studying at school. I would always end up sitting with my girlfriend and we'd just waste time procrastinating for the hour - Props ;)
Loving the updates ;D
sometimes i just watch youtube but everyone around me studies, then i study because i feel guilty for not studying. that's probably why i'm productive in study periods :-)
This is why I stopped bringing earphones to my studies. I knew I would be tempted to go on youtube or watchseries or spotify and end up not doing work ;)
totally forgot how hard it is to write a creative, since i tried to do it so many times without success, and out of stress, i ended up not preparing one before trials (never ever do that, a very dumb decision). i've spent a whole day trying to write it, with a very detailed plan of what i'm going to write about but i'm unable to bring myself to actually write the story and i feel like i keep writing about the events as they happened, so i'm telling the story, not showing the story. i'm far from a good writer, and can't drag out the events as in a journal entry, because it happens over a short period of time and i just ughhhhhhhhhhhh
I was also in this position when I had to prepare a creative at the beginning of the year. I found it it easier to write from personal experience because you already have that analysis of the character - you.
Just keep practising and you'll get there! :)
All the best ;D
i've typed about 20 words. it's been about 10 hours since i started. my plot is already set out (it's very clear in my mind because it's based on my personal discovery, and i can see myself in the story) but i just can't write.
let's hope i can get this and another essay done by the end of tomorrow hahah. thanks for your message!
me for every single essay I've had to write in the past I always have the "I'll get started on this early!" mindset, then leave pretty much all of it to the last day (and even last few hours!)

So I'd write my topic sentences, then do a bit of paragraph 1, then maybe some of 3, etc, etc. until all was finally finished :P And I find that I do this to a degree at uni still!

I found it much easier to handwrite, personally - it let the creative juices flow better, I guess haha. I found that when we transitioned into writing essays in class for SACs, I started getting so much better at refining things and writing quickly and concisely - I guess, I always subconsciously knew my direction when I was writing? So maybe, if you're really struggling, try to handwrite? Even if you end up scribbling out heaps of stuff, it doesn't have to be super neat :)
Plus, if you've got writer's block - don't be afraid to delete some sentences and start again!
Hope it all works out for you, fantasticbeasts! Let us know how it goes :D
i'm so annoying with writing, because if i try to write, i don't like moving on to something if it isn't finished. applies to essays as well, i don't like writing plans because i know everything is unfinished 😅 i'm a huge fan of handwriting as well (@ computer people how do you do it) but for this, i'm constantly changing things, so i'm starting typing first, then moving to writing. my plan for the story was totally handwritten though, couldn't have done it typed.I feel this so much. I could never plan for anything! Very envious of the people that can do it really well.
will definitely keep you updated!!
ps. loving your uni journal thread! it's interesting to read about a totally different field from what i'm interested in :-)Thank you! Please let me know if there's anything you'd like to hear about more :D I'm trying to make sure I start explaining the things I do at uni to give people a better idea of what I do :)
I feel this so much. I could never plan for anything! Very envious of the people that can do it really well.
I really wish I could handwrite more at uni, but honestly, we just cover waaaaay too much content in lectures for it to be feasible, and I don't trust myself to go back over everything when I go home.
Plus, after a semester of typing the majority of things, my handwriting speed and endurance has severely diminished...which is a shame, given how much I could write in high school haha. Appreciate it while it lasts!
Thank you! Please let me know if there's anything you'd like to hear about more :D I'm trying to make sure I start explaining the things I do at uni to give people a better idea of what I do :)
You've probably mentioned it before...but what are you interested in?

helloooo friends!
today was a very unproductive day - i tried to write my creative, but words aren't flowing out which is so bloody annoying because i have everything planned out, plot, lines here and there, but nothing is working. i'm aiming to finish a rough draft tonight, which should be submitted. i wasn't expecting the process to take so long so now i've had to move a lot of my other hand-in stuff across to other days this week, which is kind of disappointing because i planned one night off, but that's not happening anymore.
it felt like i had 25512349 reminders that the hsc starts in 50 days. it's quite surreal because at the beginning of the year my only aim was to get 3rd in modern (because i was doing shit all of last year) and finish the school year without dropping out, but the journey is almost over because the beginning of the year feels like so long ago.
after asking mum to buy whiteboard markers, she finally did it today, so i'm writing reminders all over my mirror on things that i need to remember for the hsc, so i currently have a timeline for the weimar republic, and there should be more stuff coming when i feel like i need to write it down.
also, i finished season 5 of suits and ever since then nothing has been streaming properly, which should be a sign to get to work? who knows. looking forward to this week because it's going to be a relatively chill one (minus all the hand ins this week :-)))))) ) and i have a pupil free day on friday, so that's a bit more time to study, aaaaand formal is coming up and i haven't done anything for it (dress, shoes? nope. booked hair and makeup? nope), because i procrastinate for everything.
3 more weeks to go!!!!!!!
love,
fantasticbeasts x
UGH I feel you! If I have x y and z to do and one of them is English, it's pretty much guaranteed to be the last and longest thing that has to be done ._.
WOOT go whiteboard markers! they're the reason I can memorise formulas
you know it is I've got my dress and shoes so far, but haven't booked appointments either
THREE WEEKS?!
Can definitely agree with you on that one :')
Definitely agree :P there's just something about using a larger marker that makes it stick into your head :P
Kinda :) It's a valedictorian dinner for us, and we're not allowed to bring dates... just gonna be students, parents, and teachers :3 I got a mostly white dress (a bit of black on the shoulders), and silver heels :D it's the same for my classmates; most have appointments already :)
OHH 3 weeks of school :'D I interpreted that as 3 weeks until exams :P we finish on Sept 21st (right after cal) :)
Spoilerpeople really annoy me in modern. they don't put effort into studying, listening in class, handing up stuff, etc. our range for every subject is bloody HUGE. like, 25-83. that's almost 60 marks. no matter what i do, asking people if they need help understanding stuff, they just don't give a shit which is so irritating because they don't care if the rest of the class gets dragged down with them. i don't want to tell people they should study, because that's their responsibility, but they just don't do anything. i asked someone today to pleaseeeee try and write an essay. or even a plan. she didn't even look me in the eye and say she would. half my modern class doesn't care that the whole class will drag down the rest. i don't know about scaling,
but if half the class does shit will that scale the top people down? also, it's not just the students, this reflects badly on the teacher, because they're going to look incompetent. it makes me so mad because this teacher is so amazing, puts 110% into teaching and caring about students, only for people to throw it away. he's never gotten mad until he yelled at this girl the other day, and she didn't even care? end rant.
I know how you feel! Wanted to let things off my chest in my rant below.SpoilerI've got some people in some of my classes (english particularly) who put in zero effort into their studies. They just go on youtube or tumblr during class, or just talk over the teacher. Then when they get a low mark for their exams, they get mad at the teacher and refuse to go over the feedback. It doesn't make any sense. I really want them to realise that there is a possibility that their poor performance will drag the class down. Don't get me wrong, people who put in the effort but are still struggling with the subject are fine because I see the effort and time they put into the subject. It's just the ones that never do any work, annoy me so much!
Just don't worry about the other people in your modern history class. YOU focus on YOUR performance in modern history. Your performance in the HSC should be your priority. Your hsc exam determines your raw mark for modern history. I know it's hard to not worry about the other people in your class, but you need to work with the top people to maximise your marks as much as possible. Hopefully, you and your other fellow top classmates can drag the class up!
Good luck x
Chin up guys - Rest assured that provided you perform well, and that you've got a decent amount of the class performing well in the final exam, the impact of those few stragglers will be minimal! In general, if the "upper range" of students are way ahead of the lower half, then it will stay that way even after moderation :)
creative update: almost finished the draft. will probably get it done and submitted on here by the end of the week, but be warned, it's terrible, and needs a lot of refining. also, a question: it's better to have two creatives prepared, but is it okay if i go into the hsc with one? i'll probably have a plot for another one drawn up in case my actual one doesn't fit the question, but will not having an extra one be a shit idea?
Its really inspiring to see you help and encourage others when you have so much to do yourself.. :D...keep going, you amazing thing...
period 4 - modern // felt so good coming out of modern today. one of the girls who didn't really care about work TRIED TO WRITE AN ESSAY TODAY!!!!!! she asked me for help which made me so happy, and she's making a conscious effort to try and learn the content and fit it in an essay. although i didn't get much work done this made my day :-)
Looking forward to reading it and helping you tweak it! ;D ;D
I only took one Creative into the HSC - You just need to make sure it is easily adaptable!! If you've got a well developed character(s) that you can pop into slightly different situations to match the demands of the question, then one is enough imo ;D

this isn't related to the lesson, but planning gifts for teachers is so hard. the modern class is combining with ancient for this, and i haven't gotten any money from modern which is so disappointing but anyway, back to what happened.I feel this so much! I kinda want to buy presents for all of my teachers but my classes have only just started planning gifts and haven't even gotten money together yet. The only present we have somewhat planned is Ancient. For maths today, a couple of people were talking about buying a present and nobody else was interested. I can think of a few other classes that wouldn't want to do presents as well.
period 5 - maths // whoever though having maths in period 5 would be a great idea, what the hell. i felt tired throughout the lesson and loan repayments are so boring and pointless like isn't there a computer for this stuff? anyway, i came out of that lesson understanding the work so that's good i guess.I had maths period 6 today-maths the last period of the day is such a bad idea. It was a catch up lesson but I ended up doing hardly any work.
also - who's going to be at the unsw open day? excited to meet some of you, if any of you are going to be there!I should be going! Would be great to meet some of you! :D
period 4 - catholic studies // this was actually quite an interesting lesson, talking about current issues of debate. we did this exercise where there's a question on top of a piece of paper, then you write your answer at the bottom, fold it, then pass it around the group. it was a good lesson because while there were differing opinions, people respected what others had to say and acknowledged their viewpoints. This ^ sounds so interesting!! Never heard of it before...maybe ive just had my head buried under the sand, but it sounds really cool :D

you've never heard of catholic studies the subject, or the activity? hahahahyeah the activity..sorry should have made that clearer! It sounds like a really productive and interesting way to unwind :P

not an "actual" entry because i have lots to do (and i haven't started) but it has just sunk in that i have 4 more days of classes in high school? like... what... time has really flown this year.
we have a fun day kind of thing on friday which i'm really excited about, then we graduate next monday??
gifts for teachers are starting to come through and it's just SO WEIRD. we started with these teachers last year and now it's the end of this journey and wow i won't miss school a whole lot but yea finishing is bittersweet.
all the love,
fantasticbeasts
ONLY 4 MORE DAYS? :O I have 9 days :3
ikr? it's just so surreal :')
Definitely agree with the bittersweet(ness?) of it all :)
i have so much to do now so i'm going to leave this entry here. had a really awesome day and the light at the end of the tunnel is right there.
all the love,
fantasticbeasts x
Keep working toward your goals; it sounds like you're doing great! :D
How excellent are good teachers?
i sent in a creative here on AN, and got pretty positive feedback, so submitted it to the english marking box at the beginning of this week, and got a 7/15.
This happens to me too. :o English faculties are quite notorious for this. They say your essay is perfect but give you a 15/20 in the exam.
like okay i'll try and fix it but i'm not going to bother trying my best to fix something i'm not good at, because i know i can do way better in the modules, and sections 1/3 of paper 1 so i think i'll try my best to ace those and scrape a pass in the creative.
it's annoying because i know i'm a creative thinker, but i'm not the best writer. writing wise, i'm more logical and analytical. english is going to ruin my atar, because i know i can manage around 80 in maths, and 85+ for my other subjects and i'll probably get a 50 in english (knock on wood). can't wait to get this stupid subject over and done with.[/spoiler]
all the love,
fantasticbeasts x
Yes, English (especially CW) is very subjective. However, I did just read your piece and felt similar to Jamon in the areas that could be improved so you should try and get as much feedback as possible which will allow you to recognise what is continuing to be a detriment to your mark. Also, I wouldn't disregard your CW to work on section 1 and 3 as going from a 12/15 to 15/15 in section 3 is much harder than going from a 7/15 to 10/15 in section two and those marks are equivalent in value. I also hated English for a long time (even last year I came 34/89) but I worked very hard at it by reading AN articles/essay's and learnt what constitutes a solid English essay. I now find working on English essay's moderately fun as I love words and I'm always looking for a new 'sesquipedalian' (pun intended) which will impress the marker. I ended up getting the 3rd rank in English so you can definitely significantly improve in a short amount of time.
I find motivation through feedback so keep on posting as you have a lot of unclaimed posts and I will try to help whenever I can as I'm sure many others on here will as well. :)
i also got my end of year report, and there were some huge improvements in ranks so i'm pretty happy. i promised myself i would crack the top 15 in english and legal, and make the top half of maths, and i did!!!!!!! i'm proud of myself and to know hard work pays off feels good. all i need to do is smash the hsc and i should be able to get my goal atar :-)
Congrats!!! Those are great results, and I'm really glad you've achieved your goals! ;D ;D ;D
period 2 - legal // the highlight of the day. after delivering booklets to a year 10 history class, we had a party with lots of food. our teacher loved our present, which was really awesome. we got him a gavel and sound block, because he always bangs on the desk with some object (first a ruler, then a huge protractor which people stole) to get students' attention. there was a metal plate on the gavel which we got engraved with his name, and we all wrote a thank you letter each. it was really cute and seeing his reaction really made my day :-) i'll definitely miss legal. This is such a cool idea...made me laugh when i read it ;D
since graduation, i've been watching outlander (i.e. i haven't done any study), and now that i'm up to date, i've begun doing work.I love Outlander. Been reading the book and it's like falling in love with the characters all over again :)
I love Outlander. Been reading the book and it's like falling in love with the characters all over again :)
Finally found someone else who watches it ;D
What’s your ATAR goal?
ahhhh that's a hard question. when i'm motivated, it's 85+, but now? probably 70
Oh right! You never know, you could still end up with the 85 if you do find some motivation in the upcoming weeks which I am sure you will be able to do :)
What do you wanna do after school, and if it is a uni course, what ATAR is it?
yea, i hope so hahahah
i'd love to go to uni, and do international studies doubled with media (pr/advertising) at unsw! obviously i'm not going to get the atar (my rank for one of my subjects is horrible) so i'll do a lower atar course, then transfer :-) how about you?
Oh that sounds great! Once upon a time I was looking at doing media at UNSW, but now I wanna do a double degree in law/journalism. Not gonna get the 97 for UTS but hopefully Macquarie. Still put that at number one just incase they have a spot for me ;D UNSW for me was unfortunately out of the picture as I decided I wanted to do law after LAT regos closed :/
What lower ATAR course did you put down as your next preference?
wow, that sounds really awesome! at one point i did want to do law, but that was thrown out the window once i looked at the atar cut-offs 😅 you never know what might happen anyways, like bonus points might pull through. that's okay about the LAT though, you can always transfer, or the uni you end up being at might just be better for you :-)
my preferences are pretty much the same... first is obviously international studies and media (unsw), then i've just put media (unsw) which has a cut-off of 86, then a bunch of uts courses that are international studies and communications. how about you?
08/10
hey hey hey!! this is turning into a weekly thing (definitely unintentional)
this past week has been more productive in comparison to last week. i've got a few more things in my head from my subjects, and i'm actually understanding stuff in maths (yay)! slowly, but surely, i'm getting all my knowledge together for next week. my only issue is english, which i'm really not confident about, having only chosen a decent related text today, but i reckon i can read and analyse it by wednesday, which will allow me time to write a couple of essays before next monday. the forums are becoming increasingly active which is suuuuuper awesome because answering questions helps me to apply my knowledge :-)
goals for this week:
- finish going through all modern content today
- finish a couple of modern papers
- actually get my creative together... haven't touched it since last term and really need to get a move on with making discovery more obvious
- read that related text and analyse it properly
- have solid thesis statements for all modules + discovery (1 down, 3 to go!)
- do essays under time limits especially for english slkjf;skfjs
- a reading task a day (maybe?) (don't know who'd mark it though)
a really weird and random thought... in less than a month, i'll be done with high school forever? you guys will be finished too? but then again it's very likely i'll be staying on AN so i'm not exactly done with high school. another thing, i am so annoyed outlander airs tomorrow. like, what? i was so excited to watch it today but OBVIOUSLY NOT.
hope you all have an amazing week (good luck to those starting year 12 this week),
fantasticbeasts x
Good to hear that you are progressing super well!!! What would your ideal discovery essay and creative question would you want if you could choose? I got basically exactly what I wanted which was sooooo lucky! I think paper 2 brought down my chances of a band 6 tho haha ;(
Setting out the goals in here is such a good idea! Might have to copy into my own :P
11/10 (not feeling 11/10 today ha ha ha)
oh my goodness gracious I AM SO ANNOYED AT MYSELF. out of all the weeks i should be productive it isn't this week. i feel tired by the time it's 8. i planned to get all my essays done by today and submitted onto the marking threads because they close today, but noooo i'm too tired to write an introduction for module b, let alone the other modules and discovery. i'm upset because yesterday was super productive (one day out of the rest hooray) and now there isn't enough time to write a couple of essays and get them marked at school. rip.
at least i'll never have to do english again after next tuesday. and riverdale is out tomorrow.
hope you all had a great day,
fantasticbeasts x
If you do end up doing any essays over the next few days I’d be more than happy to look over them to make comments on experession, if you’re answering the question well and all that if you’d like :) I completed advanced last year and doing ext 1 and 2 this year so whilst I won’t be able to give intricate feedback on the texts you’re writing about, more than happy to give feedback on the rest!
you'd actually do that?! thank you so much!!!! might take you up on that offer :-)
17/10
guys... NO MORE ENGLISH EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the amount of relief i felt after writing that last word in that distinctively visual essay, i could've cried because i was so relieved. a subject i've never been particularly good at (except for 2nd in prelims hahaha still don't understand how that happened) or liked and now it's over. finally, i can read books and watch movies without thinking of techniques.
props to the person who i spoke to before the exam, who reminded a couple of friends and i that there would no more quotes to remember, you're funny. try me. modern is on friday.
anyway, it's been a crazy two days. what did you all think of both papers? exam reviews:
paper 1: an absolute shitshow. i went in calm and relaxed knowing i'd done the best i could, but when it came time to do the essay, i freaked out. i had such a good thesis statement in mind during reading time... then BAM. gone.
paper 2:
- module a, distinctively visual: oh man do i wish i studied more for this one. the question was so good, but i only remembered quotes from my prescribed text, and had to make up a ton for the related and they were soooo clearly made up. rip.
- module b, war poetry: daaaaaaammmnnnn this question was amazing. i could've cried, honestly. fit exactly with what i wanted to talk about, and the fact that my teacher had been emphasising imagery all year? so glad i listened in class. a little sad war poetry is over though, that was such a great module.
- module c, exploring transitions: discovery 2.0. i felt like i didn't change my discovery analysis at all. thank goodness the essay question asked for "to what extent" which i realised just before it was time to finish this section and move onto the next one, so i added a few judgements here and there to make it look like i answered the question.
i hope everything went really well for all of you!!! may your timetables treat you well, and remember, no matter what everyone says, cramming works. and even if you think cramming isn't representative of your efforts, at least you studied.
best of luck for your hsc everyone,
fantasticbeasts
I only just saw the Standard texts you guys studied and I'm so jealous. I seriously hate reading but the two genres I do actually like are war poetry and Australian bush short stories and both of them are options!! Glad everything went well! Pumped for Friday now :P
Wow, we're the opposite! I love reading and would give anything to be an advanced student... the classics in your prescribed texts sound sooooo good.
Gee up for Friday! (Not)
GUYS I HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED THE HSC!!!!!!!!
the amount of relief i felt after writing that last word in my indigenous essay... i couldn't stop smiling because it's finally over. now i'm just waiting for my christmas casual orientation next saturday, then i'm kind of back to some sort of schedule!
what do i do now since i have nothing to do? have to go into school tomorrow to return my laptop (sad... can't watch tv shows for a solid 2 weeks) but maybe i can read a couple of books? any suggestions?
congrats to everyone who's finished the hsc today, you've all worked so hard and i'm so incredibly proud of you xxxx here's to the next part of our life journey!
GUYS I HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED THE HSC!!!!!!!!Congrulations on finishing your HSC! ;D

No need for 'almost' now ;) Congrats! In terms of suggestions, I'm going out tomorrow night don't even know what I'll do ahah but next week me and a mate are going down to Royal National Park for the day (2 hour train trip haha but definitely worth it) so if you have any nice walks nearby I'd recommend!
Congrulations on finishing your HSC! ;D
Were you satisifed with how you went overall?
Book suggestions... hmmm
John Green, um John Green. Did I mention John Green? :P
I guess it depends what you're looking for.
For me, I just finished the new Skulduggery Pleasant book called Resurrection which was alright. But I recommend the series as I feel it has a good narrative and great characters. Also Landy has a way of say doing the unexpected You can google some of the character deaths he has done. They caused quite a stir in the fanbase
Our very own good books thread could spark some ideas as well
Enjoy your break though!
GUYS I HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED THE HSC!!!!!!!!Congrats!!! Well Done! It's such an amazing feeling isn't it! ;D

oh YEA ahahaha i'll have to change that! thanks for the suggestions :-) i'll definitely go out a bit more especially without the laptop hahah i've got to do something. all the best for the rest of your hsc - when do you finish?Fair enough, I disagree with your assessments on Landy's book, but I won't hold it against you. As for John's new book. I haven't read it yet, I ended up buying it due to some of the users reading it Coffee and Insanipi. I blame them for this :P. I too have mixed feeling with John's books. I haven't read The Fault in Out Stars. I have read Paper Towns and Looking for Alsaka and couldn't help but notice the similiarities between them both. I thought I was reading the same book for each of them just with a changed plot and characters.
thanks! i think it could've gone better, because some exams were difficult for me, but that's alright - it's over.
ahhh john green. i have a bit of mixed feelings about his work - the only one i liked was the fault in our stars (bit mainstream) and i found his other ones to be a bit of a bore. have you read his newest book? haven't heard too much about it review-wise. i've never read the skulduggery series, i don't know but i've never found them appealing... probably personal taste. thanks for the book recommendations link!
thanks, will definitely enjoy my short break :-)
GUYS I HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED THE HSC!!!!!!!!
the amount of relief i felt after writing that last word in my indigenous essay... i couldn't stop smiling because it's finally over. now i'm just waiting for my christmas casual orientation next saturday, then i'm kind of back to some sort of schedule!

Congrats!!! Well Done! It's such an amazing feeling isn't it! ;D
I just brought the new John Green book and I'm reading it tonight so I can tell you how it goes! Have you read Mortal Instruments, that's one of my favourite series! Or, I'll probably just end up rereading Harry Potter again!
So happy for you! Well done, I remember that feeling haha. :D
Totally agree with books and walks and just getting to know yourself a bit now that it's over and you have time to spend with yourself!
Rec: The Perks of Being a Wallflower (I always recommend this ;))

Congratulations! ;D
If you can't watch TV shows for a bit...do some puzzles, read some books, go exploring around your area, catch up on sleep, or just sit on the couch doing nothing haha.
For books, depends what you're interested in. What's your favourite sort of genre?
When I finished last year, though, I re-read the Skulduggery Pleasant series (one of my favourites, but obviously it's all personal preference haha), all of Cassandra Clare's shadowhunter books, the Inheritance Cycle, and the Assassin's Creed books I think. :)
If you want something different from fiction, maybe Milk and Honey (and I think Rupi Kaur just recently released her 2nd book)? I bought that for something different and don't mind it! Essays in Love, also - I haven't finished it but it's pretty cool.
Otherwise just binge watch movies
Congrats again! <3
CONGRATS ON FINISHING WOOOOO!!!!! This is super exciting!!!!!
yay!!! congrats to you too! it feels great hahaha now that i can do whatever i want, just without the guiltThanks!! So ready for the break! Hope you have a great one as well! ;D
oooh okay sure, would really love to hear how you liked it. yes, i have read the mortal instruments - it's a great series! my friend gave me the bane chronicles ageessss ago but i haven't read it... maybe i should. have you read it? omg YEA i have to reread harry potter again - haven't done that in a while.
hope you have a great break!
- started my christmas casual job, with my first actual shift today. i officially don't really like retail.
- procrastinated doing the personal statement for teaching. now i'm running out of time to do it. the other day, sydney uni sent me an email saying it was due on december 15, but uac's email said december 10? which due date do i use?
business studies: 85. this was such a surprise! my bad rank brought the mark down a tad but this is a huuuuge improvement from the beginning of the year, yay!
english (standard): 87. i was sooo shocked about this one, especially considering i didn't feel confident coming out of both papers. such a relief.
legal studies: 91. i cried when i saw legal. if only my rank was a bit higher, i would've gotten a better overall mark. but but but i got told on friday at the post-hsc morning tea at school, that i got the highest mark in my cohort!!!!! crazy because there were so many people who were better than me, but i'll take what i can get
mathematics: 74. i was definitely expecting a lot worse - i'm no good at maths. i thought it would be nice to scrape a 70, and i did so yay!
modern history: 88. so disappointed with this one. i kept making excuses for not studying as much for this exam, because i was sick during week 1 of exams, and it's really come to haunt me. i guess it's over now, but i'm really annoyed i didn't study as much because i definitely would've gotten a band 6.
Nobody "loves" retail jobs, but it has it perks (If you know where to look :P)
As for the due date, I would assume it is the 10th as it is the safest option for both cases. You don't miss the deadline at all.
If you assume it's the 15th and it is the 10th, Welp you now missed the deadline.
