Just curious, any followers of F1 here?
-
b^3!
Funnily enough I was just watching it before and came on here and wondered if anyone had made a thread before. Actually I wouldnt be surprised if Bee has done so already
-
Yeah, talk to b^3.
I used to really like it, but I only ever watched it for the cars, I loved the styling/looks/aerodynamics/noise, haha...
-
I never liked it before, but my brother's obsession is starting to rub off on me!
It's actually quite fun to follow!
-
Avid follower here!!!!
Love watching the F1, just repetitive these days with Seb Vet winning all the time :P

I'm not an avid follower of F1, but I watch it when it's on TV, it's quite fun to watch :P

I know right?! At the start of the year where he didn't win in the first couple of races, I though "hey, finally, the reign of Vettel is over!!" But no, I was wrong :P
But hey, he's kinda awesome. So good on him!

He talked crap about Karthikayen so I don't like him as much!! Button is fav these days, he's kinda funny at times.. :D

Guys, I love F1!

Any thoughts on Abu Dhabi guys? Who's going to claim pole position, and who's going to go on and win the race? Your thoughts on the track itself?

I hope Webber can pull something off! He did well in India. Just hope that Grojean or Maldonado will keep things clean :P

F1 is freaking awesome!!!! Been following it intensely for a few years now.

My tip is Lewis Hamilton pole position and Lewis or Mark to win the race. Track itself isn't bad, don't think Red Bull will be as dominant on this track.
-
I still think red bull stand a chance here. They lack straight line speed compared to the others, but they make up for it in the corners, which Yas Marina has plenty of.
There is that one long straight though!
-
Well I didn't say they won't have a chance (they're Red Bull, they always have a chance!), I just don't think they'll be as dominant as in the past few races because the track itself is not AS reliant on high downforce as compared to Suzuka and India's sector 2. We can already see that in the practice sessions 1 and 2 that the Mclaren's are matching the Red Bulls which was not really the case in previous few races. Hoping that Alonso can place ahead of Vettel these few races, I still think Alonso's the best driver on the grid, would be interesting to see both drivers driving for the same team in the future.
-
I just remembered that I have a day off on Monday which means I can watch the race!!! ;D

Man, Australian time zone is so crap, all of the next 3 races are at such late/early times. At least for the US and Brazilian races exams will be over!

b^3!
I heard he's a huge Mark Webber fan?
-
Soo want to stay up!!! Hopefully I can!
-
Wow! Totally unexpected. Wel done Kimi! First win for lotus since 1986 or something
-
Shock result I must say, thought kudos to his first formula one win since leaving Ferrari. Vettel will always be Vettel, with a ground-breaking performance which drove him from last to third. I'd suspect he's not reminiscing that disqualification in qualifying in a gingerly manner now that he made the podium.

The podium speech was gold, he dropped the F bomb, and that made coulthard a little red-faced hahaha!

One of the best races of the year!

Anyone going to be watching the Brazil GP?? Unfortunately it's during the night so I'd be asleep. But since a lot of you have finished school, you have little excuse :P
-
.... been trying to stay away from this thread since I've kinda lost interest in F1 (used to be completely mad about it).
But I remember getting up early back in 2008 to watch the Brazil GP, the final round. That was the year that Hamilton basically retook the position for the championship on the second last/last corner of the last lap of the year, and just took the championship from Massa's grasp (I am Hamilton fan, well was when I was into it). I was completely stuffed for school that day, pretty much didn't learn anything and crashed when I got home, but I maintain it was worth it (ok, it was year 9, but still).
..... anyways, running away from this thread now.

It's become a little to restrictive these days, and way too intimidating. Drivers don't take risks anymore because their afraid that if they stuff it up, they'll get fines bans, penalties etc.. Overtakes used to be all about skill but nowadays it's just who is using DRS and KERS!!
Hopefully this changes. But the argument is that F1 is a technical sport so if we were to place limits, then F1 will never progress. Tough!
