Title: Naming Hydrocarbons
Post by: Superior_Specimen on June 23, 2022, 12:32:43 pm
How would you name a hydrocarbon like this?
I don't even know if the hydrocarbon pictured is even a thing, but the idea of having branches within branched confused me so I thought I would ask.
Thanks,  :)

It is a thing but not at VCE level.

The molecule you've shown is
3-tert-butyl-2,2,4,4-tetramethylhexane
