Title: CAS calculator
Post by: TheRajinator on November 16, 2012, 08:43:32 pm
I plan on doing engineering and was wondering if I should sell my Ti-nspire CAS. Will the calc be useful for next year or should I sell it? Thanks

A scientific is all you will probably need, that's what my brother uses for engineering :)

Yeh you'll only need a scientific, and when it comes to math exams, most of them are calc free anyway, although the other eng subjects will be scientific only. BUT with that being said, I still use my ti-nspire at home, to check things and such, as somestimes you don't have the time to do things by hand when you don't need to show it, so it still comes in handy to check over things.

So yeh, it you want to it might be a good idea to keep it, but its not essential.

EDIT: You starting using software and such that you might have used the calc for instead, like matlab and such...
