Title: Cricket test series VS India
Post by: midas_touch on January 20, 2008, 04:34:17 pm
India did pretty well yesterday to end the Aussies streak of 16 tests in a row. Had it not been for a few dodgy decisions in Sydney, this series could well have been in the balance going into the last test in Adelaide. Hopefully the 20/20 game and the one dayers will still go ahead, with the hearing for Harbhajan Singh to be heard after the Adelaide test.

Yeah they did ok. It still cost them over 100 runs just to bowl out our lower order!

Yeah that was kinda entertaining to watch. Our top order however looked pretty fragile, seems like they cannot handle swing bowling.

If it werent for the first innings collapse by our top order, things probably would have been different. But full credit goes to india, who played well in the entire test.

finally, they can finally learn how to lose. When they continously won every test match, it pissed me off :(

It's like the second time Australia's been owned when on a 16 test match streak :P

Australia's top order need to learn how to face quality spin. Ponting has no idea how to face harbhajan singhs off-spin, he needs to do some serious work because he hasn't been playing this bad in years!

It's because Habhajan is in no way like any of the Australian off spin bowlers. He hits Ponting with a whole new style than he is used to at training and even other matches.

Habhajan needs to pull his head in and just get on with the game. He is good for cricket because he is unique and a very smart bowler at times.

Your right, he is an exciting player to watch and all the controversy surrounding him isn't good for his game and for cricket in general!

Australia's top order need to learn how to face quality spin.

I'd be more concerned about their apparent struggle against swing bowling, which was evident in this test as well as in the 2005 ashes series against england.

Shaun Tait was practically useless in the 3rd Test.

Shaun Tait was practically useless in the 3rd Test.

Give him some time.
If all goes well he should be in some good form in no time.

Haydos and Hogg in, with Rogers and Tait out. Tait will no doubt be a long term test player, he just needs to work on his rhythm and consistency.

The test, and the series ended today with a draw, resulting in Australia claiming a 2-1 series victory. It was also Adam Gilchrist's last test upon announcing his retirement on the weekend. Now we move on to the 20/20 match against India at the MCG on Friday, a game which I will be attending :).

no were not, were getting smashed!!

this new indian spinner is working wonders, Mishra or something
I was suprised at his selection, thought they were bound to pick the 3rd paceman (maybe i.pathan) but they went with mishra, wow... whats going to happen next game when Kumble is fit, will Mishra be dropped after his 5 wicket haul 1st innings?
