How accurate is the VCE 1/2 Biology Lecture from ATARNotes?
« on: January 21, 2022, 10:00:10 pm »
Hi there, I'm starting year 9 this year and I have just finished the atarnotes lecture for biology 1/2. I know most if not all of the content in the lecture really well so I wanted to know if the lectures are accurate?

Although it is really good that you know most of the ideas, don't get ahead of your self, year 11 and 12 is far away and just focus on your school now, I am in year 10, I know what it's like to be curious but what you think you know, well you most likely don't because what the lectures give is very brief and introductory concepts to subjects, they don't go in-depth at all and the level of depth they go into in year 11 and 12 probably exceeds your knowledge but then again it is possible that you know it. Most importantly just focus on year 9, it's one of the last easy years of school work in my opinion

I guess what I was asking was if the content that they covered was actually related to the study design?

It is pulled directly from it but it doesn't matter because the study design should be changing next year so it won't help you. Its great to get ahead but just enjoy school for now.

It isn't changing next year, the study design is for 2022-2026

My bad, all the subjects I am doing are still on the 2016-2022 period due to covid. Anyway, still the lectures are cool and give you a good idea about vce but unless ur planning to accelerate bio 1/2 for year 10 then idk if its worth it, but to answer your question even if the SD is changing it will prob be mostly the same and the lectures should be changed accurately for the new one.

Yeah, I'm doing the accelerated bio 1/2 and from what the lecturers have stated, the lectures are supposed to have been changed accordingly (I am pretty sure)

All AN lectures (and somewhat associated Tutesmart classes) are certainly based on the study design for the cohort being taught in that year, as far as I'm aware! :)

(I'm just an observer and have sat through several AN lectures in my time - I have no further insights to give as I'm just a moderator on the forum and not someone running the lectures 😊🥰)
