this guy may bore me to death at times, and occasionally put me to sleep, but his analogy on the effect of enzyme and substrate concentration on the rate of metabolic reactions was fucking brilliant!!!

Have a listen to all of them instead of reading the textbook in that bit :P.. OR do both, listening is an easier way to learn, and better than reading to retain information.

I sure as heck will! Mr. Douchy, marry me.

despite some of the random stuff Douchy says, he's awesome and as my teacher is such a dud, it is good I found out about him.

Thanks Douchy

How do you get previous podcasts because only his most recent 2 are up? Is he selling a CD with 2010 podcasts too?
Title: Re: Andrew Douch 2010

I might upload them if people promise not to tell anyone.

After the exams.  It's a pain in the ass how he takes them down.  Definitely money driven.

They are not available anymore and apparently he is now selling them on CD.

If anyone has them still in their music library and can post them that would be great!

Wow, so much for benevolent.

Hahah it's not money driven, he pulls em down coz it costs him money to host!

Doesn't mean he can't put them on MegaUpload for free.  It is hard to see another motive for this other than money.

It's okay, in my opinion, the podcasts are relatively similar every year (maybe different questions though?) so you're not missing out on so much - he puts out new podcasts onto podomatic each year anyway so you can just download and listen to the most recent ones.

Yeah.  Whilst I know I shouldn't be winging because they are free, waiting for them to come out is/was a pain.

Yeah Andrew Douch saved my life for the biology mid years.. Listening to his podcast during the last two weeks really helped. Its too bad I gave up on the subject for the end of year :(

Are these podcasts any good even if you're not particularly an auditory learner?

He's good, I only found out about these podcasts 2 day before the end of year exams!
I was expecting a 33 but in fact got 36 thanks to this guy's podcasts (a few things mentioned were on the exam!), listen to them :)

How do you get the MHS thing in your Sig Rohitpi?

I made my previous one (which was noob), so request one on here (put in a pic of mine and say that you want to change the '2011' to '2012'). They'll do it in a day or so!

However some were awesome~

Depends on what kind of learner you are

I actually don't find douchy's podcasts to be very helpful. He rarely ever teaches me anything and his voice is so annoying. He talks about too much crap at the beginnings and ends.

I guess it depends on how you learn. I for one, spend a lot of time on the bus, washing dishes, going for jogs .. I find it very helpful that I can 'study' biology whilst doing these things. Yes he does seem to babble on sometimes but I find him very easy to listen to .. a step away from my boring biology teacher at school.

He's really good for introducing concepts, if you're already very confident in the area he's talking about then it'll probably be too slow for you. Oh, and his voice is the best.

im the oppositite i have no time for douchy.. when im on the train im too busy talking to friends to concentrate on the podcast.. i dont do dishes and listening while walking to school may lead to accidents aha.

unfortunately pathways to genius arent doing unit 4 lecture series because it was a 'one off fundraiser for charity purposes' (it says in the handout they gave to us at the end of the day)
but theres always access education (i think thats only 2.5 hours), unless douhcy chooses to do them at another company

are you sure that means they aren't doing unit 4? to me that sounds like it simply means they wont be doing it for charity purposes next time

yea it continues to say "because of this, there will not be a unit 4 lecture series unfortunately" - so guessing there wont be one
