Can someone explain translation and transcription really simply please? Like in dot point form for a summary, as I don't understand it.
Thanks!

Transcription:
•   DNA is unzipped
•   RNA is transcribed from template strand using RNA polymerase
•   Pre-mRNA is made containing introns and exons
Translation:
•   mRNA moves to the ribosomes
•   Ribosomes read the mRNA code, one codon at a time
•   tRNA brings a specific amino acid to the ribosome
•   tRNA anticodon joins to the complementary mRNA codon
•   an amino acid is added to the growing polypeptide chain

I’d also recommend finding a YouTube video that shows an animation of the process. I can’t recommend any particular ones but they can really help you visualise what is happening.

I concur with this! Visualising it helped me understand it myself when I first touched a first year bio unit at uni 😅
