I feel so weird because I only started HSC content today at my school and already have a TON of homework! Boy if this is only the start, what have I got myself into for the next year?!  :'(

You'll learn to cope with the workload :-) It takes time, but you slowly start getting into the hang of things. Think about it -- this time next year, you'll be done!!

Yep, and you'll definitely improve if you invest the time. :) Feel free to ask on the Chem board if you need a hand with anything!

Hi!
Is someone able to tell me how ranks work? Like where should I aim to rank for a 90+ ATAR?
i've received bad marks in two assessments so far, so should I be worried about achieving a high ATAR?
thanks!

This early on don't stress about your ranks. Essentially your rank determines your internal mark (there's an article on here that explains this really well). So the higher your rank the better however that's not to say a lower mark will hinder your chances at a high atar as if your whole cohort does well you'll still get a great internal. It's hard to say an exact rank you need to achieve as it depends on the strength of your school and cohort but don't stress about your bad marks as often assessment task 1 is worth less than 20% so you have so much time to improve.

Best of luck and hope this helps.
