Hi guys
I’m wondering if I can achieve a study score of 40 for biology with these current sac marks - my cohort is relatively strong with our averages sitting above 70 and my biology teacher is a VCAA examiner herself so I’d say the SACs she makes for us are on the difficult spectrum.
1. 93 % - rank 3
2. 73 % - I wasn’t told my rank for this
3. 95 % - rank 6
4. 78 % - rank 6
5. 83 % - haven’t been told my rank for this
But I was told my average for all my sacs combined places me in position 6-7.
I’m aiming for a high mark in the exam preferably 80% or more.
So with that said, do I have a shot for a 40 ss?

Yeah you probably do have a shot at a 40+ with an exam score of 80% given relatively the relatively strong cohort.

Hi,
I have gotten:
SAC 1 - 75%
SAC 2 - 85%
SAC 3 - 100%
SAC 4 -75%
SAC 5 - 80%
I am about rank 3 in my cohort. What is the minimum exam score i can get to get a 40+ study score for bio?
Thanks

Hi Ashlin!
I think you need to tell us which SACs are from Unit 3 and which are from Unit 4 in order to get an estimate :)

You can tell cause from memory, bio has 3 unit 3 sacs and 2 unit 4 sacs.

Sorry, I’m only doing Units 1 & 2 Biology, so I wasn’t aware of how many SACs there are for each unit in year 12 :)
With those SAC scores, just aim for at least 85+ to be safe, and you should get that 40+ study score ;)

Hi
Actually, the first two SACs are Unit 3 and the last 3 SACs are from Unit 4.

Even then I still recommend you aim for an 85+ on the exam. All the best!

Really? Huh my bad. I just rechecked the SD and yeah unit 3 has 2 AOS and unit 4 has 3 AOS. Soz but same point.

Do you mean an exam score needed for a 50?
-
yeah sorry, an exam score suitable for a 50

yeah sorry, an exam score suitable for a 50
I think you’d probably have to try and full-mark the exam.

Try and full mark the exam but usually you can drop quite a few marks and still get a 50 in biology (not for most other subjects though).
-
If you drop 5-6 marks on the exam you should get a 50
