Tommorow as you all know, is the 13th of January 2008. All outcomes of UMEP, not sure about MUEP, will be posted out on the 13th as stated by Melbourne uni themselves. So, in the coming days, i'd say between now and friday offers and rejections for UMEP will be made.
POST YOUR SUBJECT CHOICE AND WHETHER YOU GOT ACCEPTED OR NOT so i can list all the subjects VN members have been accepted in plus your name. Thankyou
oh yes and i am not sure whether i got in or not. Either way this thread serves its purpose regardless of what i get. oh please accept me stupid melbourne.

They said that they'll mail out letters later this week.
Oh nice, I was seriously considering doing MUEP economics this year, but my accounting teacher (I wanted to drop accounting) warned me that i'd lose a high score bla bla, and every other teacher just said concentrate on VCE, don't do it.
Would've been nice for a challenge and an experience, and would've help immensely with VCE Economics.
Too late now I suppose.
Good luck, and i'll be pinching kids notes from UMEP Economics...hopefully they help with VCE

Do I address her as Ms. van Loon or Ms. Loon? Or Mrs. Loon? Mrs. van Loon? A bit confused with these formalities.

They want a B+ in each subject, not across all subjects. (I think)

they said it was "many applicants exceed the B+ avg across all their studies so this needs to be met." Physics i know is my main downfall but ahh well. You're right, it could be a blessing in disguise, let's hope.
Plus i really cbfed appealing and shit, what's done is done.

Yeh I reckon hard would ace BM if he can get 49 in legal. There's really nothing much to the subject because basically everyone that gets 40+ knows everything they need in the exam. It's merely a case of wording your answers; a skill which I reckon hard has. Memorising the theory should be pretty easy, and you've got plenty of resources here on VN to make it as easy as possible.

Really kick up a fuss about it. And if they don't let you, then demand to do it thru Distance ed. It's probably the subject most suited to distance education. Everyone here is willing to help you!

oh i never thought of dis ed! "when there's a will there's a way." well if they don't let me in, i'm most likely to be doing it through dis ed. And yes people on this forum are great which is why i wouldn't mind doing dis ed.

This was before the holidays. The teacher had looked at my GMA exam and exam 2 appeared to be appalling and basically said that I had no chance anyway. Turns out there was an error in assigning marks to students (he had read the wrong result), which I found out in the holidays from my GMA teacher and he's not eligible to sign the application form.

Congrats to everyone! Well done :)
And to those who didn't quite get in, don't worry too much about it. enhancement doesn't give you THAT much of an edge, it just means you'll be able to focus on your VCE subjects better. Believe me, it can get extremely distracting, and you WILL miss many classes if you had got in. Don't be too disappointed if the appeal is not approved :) You can always do what dcc did and self learn what you are passionate about without academic constraints!

With that said, you people who got in might go through a year of the subject and decide you're never doing it again in university due to the horrors and hardships you've experienced.

Persistence does pay off; congrats dekoyl. Is anyone/does anyone know someone going to Mount Waverley for UMEP maths? I have a feeling I'll be at the school entrance clueless; insofar, the teacher has not communicated with me about which room or how to get to it =s
