2016 Olympics in Rio

Hey everyone!!

I just thought this forum would be a good place for us to discuss things that happen to the world's best athletes in the next fortnight!

A few questions of my own, feel free to add more.

What did you think of the Opening Ceremony?    --- I personally thought it was a bit boring, only got exciting after the   countries had come out. That rant on global warming killed me!

Who do you think will win? 2nd? 3rd?

Do you reckon it was right for someone who only won a bronze to carry up the olympic flame?

What is your favourite olympic sport? Fave athlete?

I'll keep an up to date link for a medal tally also for your convenience.
Go Aussie!!

Heres the medal tally lol sorry i forgot to include it earlier

I think he was, but how about that first guy we saw? He was world champion at one stage wasnt he? He couldve brought it up and the other guy couldve just been there! Imagine being ill for an event like that ::)

I'm not quite sure, but if so then that would make sense!! Maybe short notice prevented a proper replacement? ;D

I still reckon they couldve replaced him with someone else in the line.. But i still wouldve carried the torch up even if i was as crook as a dog, you wouldnt be able to take away that opportunity ;D

Yeah after reading that I know think that their decision was a good one, being tackled by a priest at the olympics? Thats not random at all.. Nor is it fair. So I'm glad at least he got to do this!
Find it hilarious how Channel 9 has got Channel 7 coverage on their website though never thought id see the day ;D

Let's just talk about Usain Bolt for a moment. He has this cheeky grin before he starts, he has this cheeky grin as he runs, he has this cheeky grin when he wins. Can I BE Usain Bolt? Can I? What a human!

What time was this?

I remember we watch a video of him at school (I think it was 100m) and everyone was full yelling when he won lol

Our teacher planned to turn it off since it distracted the whole class :/

Olympic champion in what is the most popular field event 3 summer olympics in a row is just freakish. For 8 years he's pretty much reigned supreme as the king of the 100/200m in a sport that is so demanding on the body! What I admire most is his attitude - he's confident - but somehow doesn't come across as arrogant or cocky? He's a showman and makes people want to turn on the TV and watch, not just for his freakish ability but his CHEEKY GRIN - also he comes over to Australia quite a bit and loves his cricket. Mad respect.
