Medentry Exams

Hey guys,
I've started to do medentry exams and I'm finding that I've been getting extremely low scores espcially when comparing them to some exams i did at the start of the year.
Is it possible that you can get worse at umat exams over time? or am i just tripping?

It depends on the specific exam difficulty. I got 76/134 in one exam only to get 76th percentile while in another I got 90/134 and only received 67.

Hey,

Often the medentry cohort is improving as you are - so it appears you're doing worse!!! But it's relative to the cohort - and p.s. medentry exam scores are usually not indicative of what you get on the actual thing. I say this only because in my experience they got me used to thinking logically and knowing how to approach questinons, but I did quite badly on whole medentry exams. However went quite well in the actual thing :)

Please please don't feel dismayed like I did at failing medentry exams

Afaik the medentry percentile estimates are bs. You should take your scores and compare them to the curves on Cookiedream's post to get a more accurate reading.
My scores progressively got worse the more exams I did. I think the exams could have been harder, the pressure more intense... who knows? In the end I'm pretty happy with where I am at so I hope you can reach that stage too.
Good luck for tomorrow!

I think it’s pretty normal for your percentiles to drop off as you progress through medentry exams as most people only do the first few, and only the most prepared people end up finishing all of them.

Okay so overall I did okay on the medentry exams but my S2 was sitting around 55-65%ile on S2. If  I did sort of the same standard on the real umat (was like 26-29ish/42) is there any chance I'll get over a 50 to get into medicine at monash? Thanks

I don’t think you can realistically get an estimate of how you went on the real thing from your med entry scores. As you probably noticed the real thing was pretty different to medentry (in my opinion anyway)

S2 is really random. I was getting ~40th percentile for S2 on medentry and ended up with a raw score of 67, which was ~96th percentile so there is every chance you could surpass you expectations. Even if you do get your predicted score, you should be above 50 raw for Monash.
